Introducing Coach Ryan Williams: an experienced and dedicated basketball trainer passionate about helping young athletes reach their full potential. With a rich sports background, Coach Williams brings knowledge and a proven track record of success to his training sessions. Coach Williams' basketball journey began at a young age, starting at 7. Throughout middle school, he had the privilege of training with renowned trainers in Orlando, Florida, such as Irwin Hudson and the OHoops group, including Alfredo Williams, Gerrod Trytten, Nick Trapp, Ricky Claitt, and more. This exposure to top-notch training fostered a strong foundation and a deep understanding of the game. In high school, Coach Williams continued to excel as a player, playing JV and varsity basketball at The Master's Academy under the guidance of esteemed coaches, including Reggie Kohn, Steve Kohn, and Tony Pitts. Recognized for his leadership qualities, Coach Williams was named the Most Valuable Teammate during his junior year for his ability to motivate and uplift his teammates both on and off the court. During his senior year, Coach Williams actively shaped his team's identity and success. Collaborating closely with head coach Reggie Kohn and starting point guard Jose Placer, they developed a memorable team slogan, "Loaded," inspired by Colossians 2:10, symbolizing their unity and fullness through Christ. Following high school, Coach Williams was recommended by Coach Reggie Kohn to join Pepperdine University's basketball program as a manager. In his first year working alongside esteemed coaches such as Lorenzo Romar, Ken Bone, Curtis Allen, Gerald Brown, John Impelman, and Reggie Morris Jr., he gained invaluable experience and exposure to running a high-level basketball program at the Division 1 level. Four years into his role as Head Manager, Coach Williams started working as a graduate assistant coach under the guidance of Lorenzo Romar. Coach Williams plays a vital role in video operations and team coordination. His responsibilities include scouting assistance, player workouts, and working closely with the big men on the team. With his deep understanding of the game, attention to detail, and commitment to player development, Coach Williams consistently delivers comprehensive video breakdowns and training sessions that enhance skills, basketball IQ, and overall performance. Young athletes who train with Coach Williams can expect a dynamic and supportive learning environment. His holistic approach to training focuses on basketball skills, character development, teamwork, and mental resilience. With his extensive experience as a player and a coach, Coach Williams possesses a unique perspective that enables him to connect with athletes and guide them on their journey toward excellence. How I can help you improve your game:

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Career summary and accomplishments:

Best coach I ever had:

I have had many outstanding coaches in my lifetime working with the game of basketball. Two names that come to my mind as being the perfect coaches for me are Reggie Kohn and Tony Pitts.

Reggie Kohn was my high school Head Basketball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director.

Tony Pitts was my high school Bible teacher and Assistant Basketball Coach.

These coaches were the best I could have asked for at that time of my life for a few reasons: they consistently supported me, they held me accountable, they encouraged and allowed me to lead in a team-established environment that was conducive to our success, and they showed me how to live a life full of passion, commitment, fun, focus, and energy!

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Athletes and parents should understand that I am here for their children and I value teaching the next generation!

My philosophy when working with athletes is treating them as a person #1, a student #2, and an athlete #3.

I don't believe in positions in basketball. I do think they provide structure, which is a good thing.

However, I am more concerned with position-less basketball that focuses on skills and translatable production at the next level.

I like to create an environment that calls for moments of hard work and intensity and moments of focus and relaxation.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
