I never had a trainer growing up or knew anyone who had played college or professional basketball. My dad spent countless hours in the gym with me teaching me what he knew. Would I have liked to know what was going to come when I reached the next step, yes. That is what I would like to do for you. Trainers can waste your time and money with drills that you’ll never use in a game. Having played at all levels, I know what drills and new skills can be taught to develop your game as well as be used in games. Improving your skill and knowledge in a simple, efficient, and effective way is most important.

I started and played 4 years of varsity basketball at Scott County High School in Georgetown, Ky. I played in the state championship game my senior year and was a 1,000 point scorer. I then went on to play two years of college basketball at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, playing in all but 9 games due to injury and averaging 25+ minutes per game. After my second year i transferred to Eastern Kentucky University where I started and played for 3 years. At EKU I was a 1,000 point scorer and led the conference in steals in back to back years. After graduating college, I went on to play my first professional year in Slovenia where I won Defensive Player of the Year and averaged 15 points, 4 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. Following the end of that season I went to play in New Zealand for the summer, averaging 14 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. I am now currently playing for my third professional team in Austria.
I can help improve your game by putting you through drills that high school and college athletes go through everyday. They may seem simple, but everything that I teach is a breakdown within the game, something that you will do in the game and you may not even realize it. I also can teach you tips and drills that you can do on your own everyday to help you improve.
A typical training session will include a warmup to start. Then we would move into drills that would all be based around the same skill. Whether that be finishing around the basket, shooting off the catch, shooting off the dribble, learning how to play in a pick and roll, or even just ball handling. The training session will be based off the skill of the player and what the player and/or the parent want to work on. If you are just beginning to play basketball an in-depth basketball workout would not be beneficial or useful to that player. The basics should be taught to them compared to someone who may be much more experienced.
My coaching background is very minimal. I’ve coached the basketball camps for my college for the past 3-4 years. However, what I have done is, I have participated and done every drill that I teach. Whether it be drills I did in high school or college, I have done them and they have helped me get to where I am at now.
The best coach I’ve ever had was my college coach at EKU, AW Hamilton. He pushed me to be great at what I do and what I could do to help the team succeed. He also wanted me to improve in areas I needed it when the next season was going to start. Demanding excellence in the small details everyday, knowing that that would allow you to be better during the most important situations.
Athletes and parents should know that I have played at a high level. That means I have been through college workouts, films, practices, and games. Being able to teach workouts and talk about experiences that are exactly what college and professional basketball players go through. I am currently still playing, so to say I know everything is wrong, but knowing what is to come at the next level(s) I believe I can help with.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
