Hey, I’m Coach Conrad, and I specialize in developing basketball players who are ready to level up. As someone who’s played at both the collegiate and professional levels, I know firsthand what it takes to grow, compete, and succeed on and off the court. But my purpose goes deeper than just my own journey. Through my relationship with God, I’ve come to understand that the knowledge and experiences I’ve been blessed with aren’t just for me—they’re meant to be shared. I’ve found joy, discipline, and direction through basketball, and my mission now is to help the next generation experience that same growth and fulfillment. Coaching has become my platform to do just that. I was recently named co-Coach of the Year for 3A Jr. High School Boys, a reflection of the development and heart my players bring to the game. And I just wrapped up my first year as an assistant coach at North Central College, where I brought that same energy, passion, and commitment to helping college athletes reach their full potential. About Me:
I was born and raised in Maryland. I played and graduated from (D2) Salem University in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and management, and I'm currently pursuing a master's degree in organizational leadership at North Central where I also am an assistant Men's basketball coach. After playing 4 years overseas as a Professional Basketball player.
How I can help you improve your game:
I will help young athletes improve their basketball game, focus on building their confidence with the ball through consistent, progressive ball-handling drills and game-like pressure situations. Teach a variety of finishing moves at the basket, emphasizing body control, contact absorption, and decision-making. Develop their athleticism with age-appropriate bodyweight exercises, footwork drills, and jump training to improve strength, speed, and coordination. For shooting off the dribble, start with solid shooting form and introduce pull-up drills that include combo moves, balance, and timing. Use positive reinforcement, goal-setting, and video feedback to boost their confidence and track progress.
What a typical training session looks like with me:
A typical training session with me is high-energy, focused, and tailored to each athlete’s needs. We start with a dynamic warm-up and ball-handling drills to build confidence and control. From there, we move into finishing work at the basket—using both hands, embracing contact, and learning to score creatively. I incorporate athletic development through footwork, agility, and jump training to boost explosiveness. We finish with shooting off the dribble, emphasizing balance, form, and game-speed reps. Every session is purposeful, challenging, and designed to build skill, confidence, and basketball IQ.
Career summary and accomplishments:
I am a program director for Swarm Basketball, a youth club organization, in Chicago. I also was the head eighth-grade boys' coach at Francis Xavier Warde School in Chicago for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons, earning Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Co-District Coach of the Year honors in 2024. I played college basketball at Salem University (W.V.) where I was the team’s third-leading scorer and ranked top five in the conference in steals. Following my four seasons with the Tigers, I played professional basketball in Australia, Mexico, and Dallas during a 4-year career. During my time in Australia, I won the Australia Waratah League Scoring Title by averaging 25 ppg and was named the team MVP.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I contact a coach?
If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
How do I book lessons?
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Can I pay my coach via Venmo or cash?
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
What if I don't feel comfortable paying online?
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Where will the coach hold their lessons?
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
When is the coach available to train?
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
What if I don't love the first lesson?
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
Do coaches work with both kids & adults?
Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
