I played Football and competed in Track & Field for four years in High School. I qualified for CIF in Track & Field and won various medals as a sprinter. I was a sprinter at the college level.
My Career as a High School Coach consists of over 30 years working as a Football, Volleyball, and Track & Field coach. A significant accomplishment for me was developing the athletes and teams to reach the level of qualifying for the CIF playoffs and performing in individual CIF championship events.
The best way is to create a training program to improve and establish goals for performance, which is a direct result of a quality training process.
Here is a list of areas where anyone can improve their game skills and performance. The build blocks toward success:
Learning and practice of fundamental movement skills
Sequencing movement skills through phases of improvement.
Master the fundamental movement skills for their specific sports.
Provide simple instruction and practice various skill activities to develop the confidence to improve.
The initial training session setup would be to determine the goals for the designed performance plan. Get to know the athlete's experience level, any injury history, and any other details that will help provide the best training outcome for the athlete.
Explain the assessment process, including sport or activity demands, movement assessment, and performance tests.
Training Session
Divide the training into sessions of the various components of the performance development.
Session 1. Warm-up
Session 2. Movement Skills
Session 3. Sport or Position Specific technique development
Session 4. Sport or Position Specific skill drills
Session 5. Recovery and Preparation for the next training session
My coaching background has entailed quite a wide range of experiences. I have Coached Football at four different High Schools, working with varying levels of programs that presented challenges from rebuilding to well-established and finally starting a new program from the very beginning. Some of my other experiences were coaching girls' volleyball as a junior varsity coach, then becoming the Varsity coach, developing the whole program, and seeing some very successful teams. Another area of my coaching experience was working with individual athletes in Track & Field events and seeing them qualify for CIF in different events. In all my different coaching experiences, I always provided a good foundation of strength development to help every athlete improve their physical skills.
When I think about the best coach, it is hard for me to select just one. Having many outstanding coaches with various coaching styles provided an excellent foundation for my coaching career.
The experiences that each coach presented in my development as an athlete were excellent teachers of the skills, techniques, and strategies. They constantly challenged me to work and improve my abilities. Presented valuable life lessons and fostered a supportive connection with the athletes with whom they came in contact.
My coaching style is always planning the athletes' training objectives and creating a learning environment focusing on confidence and resilience to overcome challenges. I will tailor the coaching program to each athlete's abilities and goals and focus on long-term development. Present a cheerful enjoyment of training and the experience of preparing and effort.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
