Shooting. Face-offs. Goaltending. I have been coaching lacrosse for over a decade and have strong experience coaching the three skills/positions listed above. I am a DIII men's lacrosse Offensive Coordinator, Face-Off Coach, and Goalie Coach. During my time, we have raised our goals per game, trained brand new players to take face-offs, and produced multiple all conference goalies. I find it most important to focus on the fundamentals of lacrosse when coaching. Fundamentals will never change in lacrosse, but higher skills can be built from them.

Every athlete is different. Each athlete will bring a different skill set or work ethic to a training session. My way of coaching is to really break down the athlete to the core on fundamentals to ensure that everything is moving the way it is supposed to. If there are issues, we can always go back to the basic mechanic and make sure everything is working as it should before moving on. Fundamentals will never change, but should still be practiced frequently.
My training sessions will be focused on every detail in a players mechanics. While maximum reps are great, maximum reps with bad form are hindering more than they are helping. First half of a session is perfecting the mechanics of the skill while the second half will be about getting reps with that skill as long as the athlete has it down.
At all of my stops while coaching we have had fewer resources. I have had to wear multiple hats and teach many positions. For years, I have coached the offensive side of the ball. I enjoy helping athletes maximize their shooting technique and power. Face-offs seem to changed every few seasons with different rules and regulations. However, I have constantly kept up with the changes and taught my players how to effectively adjust to the new rules each time. I even started the FOGO Pro application to help athletes train on their own time. In addition to always coaching offense, I have always worked with the goalies too. I detest the modern goalies lazy form of just falling on low shots. I like to stick to the fundamentals of goaltending and have goalies work on their steps and tracking the ball. I am also a big proponent of working hard on clears. Clearing is a very under appreciated aspect of lacrosse. I have recently started coaching with Team11 and Joey Sankey. I am taking over the 2026 team after a successful fall with the 2031 team.
My best coach was my original high school lacrosse coach. When I was fresh to the game he always reiterated the importance of the fundamentals to me. We let me get creative with my skills, but when I struggled with a move or against a team he always reminded me to go back to what I know and can do well. When he finished coaching and I started coaching, he continued to mentor me and help set my base for coaching.
While I played middie for most of the career, I have a year as a goalie under my belt. I took face-offs in high school and to this day I still do in my leagues.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
