My unique playing experiences in Costa Rica, Sweden and the US have given me insight into how the game of soccer is played around the world. My passion and love for soccer has been with me since I was a little kid. COVID made it difficult for me to pursue and continue a professional career in soccer like I had always dreamed of. However, if I can't play the game at the highest level, I want to be a part of the coaching process of inspiring younger athletes to have the same dream I did. My playing and training experiences, paired with my leadership experiences, have given me knowledge and insight into the game of soccer. With this knowledge, I hope to encourage and motivate younger athletes to succeed at the game of soccer, at any level. Being an assistant men's soccer coach at a division 3 school, and having gone through the process myself, I can also assist in helping to navigate athletes through the college process and what that path looks like.

I can help someone to improve their game in a multitude of ways. I can work with beginners and help to develop basic skills and understanding of the game, but can also work with athletes who are looking to play at a higher level and are looking to fine tune their craft. My background with track and field can also help to determine fitness levels and what levels athletes should be looking at for peak performance. Having played at multiple levels, my knowledge on what that path looks like both athletically and academically for athletes is first hand.
A typical training session is dependent upon the client. However, a typical session would include:
1.) some type of warm up without the ball, with both dynamic and static stretching.
2.) some type of warm up including the ball (dribbling, juggling, conework, etc)
3.) move on to technical work (passing, dribbling, working on touch)
4.) tactical work (position oriented work i.e. heading and clearances for defenders, long range passing for midfielders, or finishing for attacking players)
5.) light fitness/core work
6.) cool down and stretching
Soccer Summer camp (2011-2015)- Taught 6-13 year olds the basics of soccer and helped develop skills and techniques in athletes looking to improve their game. Spring Break Camp (2015-2019)- During college, my college soccer team would host I.D. camps for high school athletes to attend and be scouted by colleges. I coached and worked with athletes directly to help better their understanding of the college soccer game and what that path to playing college soccer looks like.
The best coach I ever had was my college soccer coach. He played at UCONN in the 80s and was a great player. Although he was a bit outdated in his coaching personality, he was honest and gave real feedback and critique. If you made a good play, he was the first one to tell you you had done a good job. If you made a bad play or had a bad game, he was honest about it and gave things to work on or learn from. He really opened up the way I saw the game of soccer and showed me what it took to succeed at a high level. The discipline and work ethic that he taught that must be put in to achieve greatness both academically and athletically, is unparalleled to any other coach I have ever played for. He was also funny and someone you could joke around with or even confide in. But when it came to soccer, he took his job extremely seriously and was always prepared, punctual and created a professional environment, even at a collegiate level. He made me want to learn more about the game of soccer and prepared me for the real world at the same time, and that is something I hope to pass on to others as well.
They should know that I am excited to learn just as much from them as I hope they can learn from me! While my coaching experience is somewhat limited, I have been trying to play professionally since I graduated college in 2019 and having played in Sweden and Costa Rica, I have seen how other cultures around the world play soccer and what differences there are from American soccer. I think this blend of soccer cultures along with my playing and training experiences makes me a coach who is motivated to continue to learn about the game of soccer and develop my own knowledge as I hope to share it with other athletes. I will learn how to be a better coach from my athletes and they will hopefully learn to love the game of soccer and master their craft.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
