Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I ever had was Roberto Cascante. He was my 2nd and final coach in Costa Rica before I won my two national championships. He taught me about the importance of doing small things as best as possible. As the the small things add up to the big ones.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I’m intense, I don’t tolerate mediocrity. Your goals are only as big as your self belief system. Self belief comes from trusting yourself. Self trust is a side effect of good habits. Good habits come from good coaches/mentors.

How can you help someone improve their game?
As a seasoned tennis coach with 12 years of experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help players improve their game. My approach is multifaceted, focusing on both the technical and mental aspects of tennis. Technically, I work on refining strokes, enhancing footwork, and developing strategic play. Mentally, I am dedicated to instilling the habit of winning and fostering positive attitudes in players. By combining these elements, I help players build confidence, improve their performance, and achieve their full potential on the court.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session with me starts with a comprehensive warm-up, beginning with stretching from the bottom up. We then move into dynamic footwork drills using ladders, cones, and other equipment to enhance agility and speed. Next, we warm up strokes, usually starting with short court rallies, incorporating different spins and heights to ensure a well-rounded practice.
Once a good rhythm is established, we focus on the core topic of the day. This could range from developing a player's strengths to addressing and improving weaknesses. We break down each task to its simplest form, often starting with hand-fed balls from a short range. The session progresses to more complex drills, culminating in replicating the stroke under real point play conditions and pressure, including scoring. This structured approach ensures players develop both technically and mentally, preparing them for competitive play.
