About Me:

Coach Weyman Mabuya is a soccer coach developing disciplined, intelligent, and confident players through high-performance training, tactical awareness, and a passion for excellence on and off the field.

How I can help you improve your game:

As a coach, I help players improve their game by combining real playing experience from both Africa and the United States with a structured, high-performance development approach.

Having played at competitive levels in Zimbabwe, including Herentals FC where I made over 100 appearances and contributed goals and assists, I understand the demands of high-pressure football and what it takes to succeed. My journey continued in the U.S. on a soccer scholarship, where I played college soccer at Georgia Military College and Reinhardt University, and competed in semi-professional leagues such as the UPSL and USL2. This experience gives me a deep understanding of different playing styles, tactical systems, and player expectations at every level.

As a certified coach, I focus on developing technically strong, tactically aware, and mentally confident players. I design training sessions that improve first touch, decision-making, positioning, and game intelligence. I also emphasize discipline, fitness, and consistency, because small habits create big results over time.

At Buford High School, I coached and helped guide players to improved performances and team success, including winning trophies. I believe in creating a positive but demanding environment where players are challenged to grow every session.

My goal is simple: to help each player unlock their full potential, build confidence, and perform at the highest level possible through hard work, structure, and belief.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

My typical training session is designed to be fun, interactive, and highly effective, ensuring every player is constantly engaged and developing. I start with a dynamic warm-up that includes movement, coordination, and light ball work to activate both body and mind while setting a positive energy for the session.

From there, I focus heavily on highly technical skills. I emphasize first touch, dribbling, passing accuracy, and receiving under pressure. Ball work is involved throughout the entire session, so players are always interacting with the ball rather than standing or waiting in lines. I believe repetition in realistic game situations is key to true development.

I also incorporate fun and competitive drills that challenge decision-making and creativity. These exercises are designed to keep players motivated while improving their technical ability and soccer intelligence at the same time. I constantly encourage communication, movement, and quick thinking.

As the session progresses, I transition into finishing drills where players get multiple opportunities to shoot in realistic game scenarios. I make sure finishing is both competitive and enjoyable, pushing players to improve their confidence in front of goal.

I always end my sessions with fun drinks, recovery moments, and a full scrimmage. The scrimmage allows players to apply everything they have learned in a free-flowing game environment. It’s competitive, enjoyable, and the best way to finish strong while expressing creativity and teamwork.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I am Weyman Mabuya, a dedicated soccer coach and educator with a strong background in both player development and academic achievement. My journey in soccer and education reflects discipline, leadership, and a commitment to excellence on and off the field.

As a player, I competed at a professional and international level, beginning my career in Zimbabwe where I developed through Junior Chiefs Academy and Dynamos Youths. I went on to play for Herentals FC, making over 100 appearances and contributing goals and assists while helping the club achieve promotion to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League. I also gained international experience in regional competitions, earning recognition for my performance and leadership, including captaining teams and leading by example on the field.

In the United States, I continued my soccer career on a scholarship, playing college soccer at Georgia Military College and Reinhardt University. I also competed in semi-professional leagues such as the UPSL and USL2, where I continued to develop as a versatile player in multiple positions including winger, wing-back, and forward.

As a coach, I am certified in the United States and bring professional training standards into every session. I have First Aid, CPR, and PCA certification, allowing me to ensure player safety, care, and proper development in all training environments. I coached at Buford High School, where I played a key role in developing the team and helped them win a championship for the first time in 20 years, a major milestone in the program’s history.

In education, I hold strong academic and professional experience in business and sports environments, which supports my ability to lead, organize, and develop structured training systems. I combine my academic knowledge with real playing experience to mentor athletes effectively.

I specialize in developing intelligent, disciplined, and confident players through structured training, technical development, and high-performance coaching. My philosophy is built on hard work, accountability, and continuous improvement. I take pride in not only building better players, but also better leaders prepared for success in sport and life.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section.
