I use neuroscience-backed strategies to engineer the routines, habits and actions that expand athlete's ability to play better at the edge of their comfort zone. This is where change and growth occur. We will supercharge your progress and results by; -Implement understandable and fun concepts rooted in sports psychology that are easy to implement on the field, court or slope. -Managing or eliminating the modern world's manufactured distractions that scatter your focus and contribute to anxiety and depression. This will ensure you approach life and sport with the proper intensity and presence without sacrificing well-being. -Prioritizing proper nutrition. What are you consume are the building blocks and foundation of your body and nervous system. -Training. Proper training and recovery to support health and performance. Training can be specified to your sport and individual needs. -Language. Language is overlooked. It composes our stories and beliefs which are wired into our physical abilities and limitations. We can remove unhelpful language and replace it will empowering words that remove negativity. -Creating the systems and guard rails that keep your athlete on track to greatly increase the odds of reaching college or professional goals. Together we will set clear goals and reverse engineer them into the clear daily actions that keep you healthy and moving forward. About Me:

My name is Vic. I live in Bend, Oregon with my wife and two wonderful kids. I coach athletes of all types from winter sports to soccer and more. I am lifelong athlete. I have strong core values that revolve around health and purpose.

How I can help you improve your game:

I have a deep understanding of the pressure athletes of all ages feel in sport. By using neuroscience I can help you understand some of the mechanisms behind what feel like common mental hurdles. By developing the total person—physical, mental, environment, nutrition—we can bring out the best athlete when its needed most.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Training sessions vary depending on the athlete's needs and sport. I spend a lot of time on the fields, slopes or courts with athletes delivering information in a relevant, understandable way that can be put into action quickly in a fun way. Some sessions are virtual depending on the time of year, season or location, however face to face is best outside of an office setting. Athletes often feel something is wrong with them. This is not the case. We're going to identify your strengths and build on them while filling gaps in sleep, nutrition, posture and especially establishing rules for devices.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I was a nationally ranked tennis player and soccer player in my youth. I was unfortunately sidelined during my critical scholarship window by a broken leg and ankle. I went to graduate from Florida State University and went on to a long career in federal emergency management and was a science advisor to the White House. During this time, I became a go-to person for helping federal employees handle the rigors of deployments, long hours and total health to enhance their lives in and out of work.

Over the past 5 years I have worked and trained with the Flow Research Collective in the field of applied neuroscience. This cohort is lead by Steven Kotler and host of brilliant doctors, coaches on helping athletes, founders and executives implement flow into life and sport.

I have a degree in atmospheric physics from FSU. Currently I am pursing my masters in sports psychology and developing a total health and performance component for Bend FC Soccer Club. I am also a certified nutritionist and will be testing for my certified strength and conditioning specialist credential in May.

Additionally, I am also a certified speed coach by ALTIS. And, I have extensive breathwork training with Shift/Adapt (Brian Mckenzie) from living on the North Shore of Oahu for 13 years and surfing some awfully big waves.

In addition to coaching, I am also an Alpine Ski Patroller at Mt Bachelor. So, I live and breath in a very demanding team environment where there's little room for error. I am routinely critical life-saving situations in which I practice what I preach to my clients.

Best coach I ever had:

Nick Bollettieri, coach of Andre Agassi, was also my coach and mentor throughout my youth. He remained my friend and accountability partner until he passed in 2022. Although my scholarship and pro career was derailed, i took Nick's positive and vibrant fighting spirit with me into life. This skills and attitude instilled into me at what's now IMG Academy carried me through life with health, physical fitness and resilience. That champion's mindset remains with me and I have passed that along with my kids and clients.

Into addition to Nick's coaching, I was also a student of Dr. Jim Loehr. We worked extensively on strategies, methods and routines for total well-being to better access the ideal performance state during high stakes situations on the tennis court.

My purpose to help you athletes develop this attitude and lifestyle that will suit them on any path.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I work well with youth athletes. I understand first hand the pressures and fears they are experiencing. My strategies are made to be fun and produce results outside of a sitting in an office. They are easy to understand and implement on a field. Let's connect for a free consultation! My availability listed is not set in stone. I stay as flexible as possible for the clients I work with due to their training schedules, travel and academics.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
