Hi there! My name is Coach Trista, and I’m originally from Michigan. I attended WMU for both my bachelors degree, and my masters degree. My educational career I was devoted to helping others and motivating students. I graduated with a Secondary English Education degree, and taught and coached in Public Schools for 3 years in Michigan. When COVID hit, I moved to Virginia and pursued Educational Technology.
In Virginia, I was able to join a league of adult co-rec athletes, where I played in multiple high-level games a week. Simultaneously, I also helped coach a youth team from their U12 stage to U15. That team was undefeated, and kick started my love for coaching (Go Takis!). Once work took me to North Carolina, I knew I needed to find another way to coach and joined the Triangle United soccer club where I coached U10 girls.
After being out due to injury for a couple of years, I’m finally ready to start coaching again and get back on the pitch!
I approach all athletes with the same level of respect I would expect back. I want to meet them where they are and ensure we work together to achieve one common goal. Individualized time with me means we have the opportunity to work on tekkers, agility, stamina, ball control, gameplay, and resilience. These skills can be started at any age, with any experience level.
If this sounds like a good place for you to thrive, count on me.
Each session will be catered to the skills you are looking to achieve. Athletes, parents/families, and myself will work together to establish what success looks like in these sessions. Once we are on the pitch, I expect your focus and attention to the task at hand.
My expectations are that you come prepared, give it your all, and leave feeling better than when you arrived.
I started my soccer career at 4 years old. A private trainer taught me everything I needed to know about the foundation of the game. After years of training and waiting until I could join a league, I was able to play in AYSO recreational leagues. From AYSO, I tried out and made the Columbus Crew Jr. travel team. On this team, we played through the full year of indoor and outdoor soccer and truly focused on athleticism and growth. This approach allowed me the opportunity to compete as a representative athlete in the AYSO National Games, and be a starting striker for my junior league.
Alongside my soccer career, I was also a runner and secured scholarship to a D1 university for track and cross country. That experience allowed me the insight to the expectations of student athletes, the level of determination it takes to thrive, and time management to ensure success in academics and athletics.
With the close to the first season in college, I quickly transitioned back to soccer at the Co-Rec Intramural level. In that setting, I found my voice as an athlete and captain, which carried into my adult playing career.
My best coach was in cross country, and I had the same coach from 6th grade to my senior year in high school. He was the most delicate balance of pushing me past my limitations and encouraging me to be the best athlete I could be. With his support, I was able to achieve great things in my athletic career, like 6-time MVP, setting all long-distance records and holding them for over a decade, and being the first woman to qualify for States in decades.
Like him, I plan to lead with patience, understanding, determination, and a passion for the game.
I am going to push your limits! I am here to help you grow, and not stagnant. Come prepared to give it your absolute best, and it will be a great session.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.

Coach no-shows — You'll be fully credited and we'll help you find a replacement.
Flexible credits — Unused lessons last 12 months and can be used with any coach on the platform.
