Coach Trees shares her expertise

Sydney played five years of Division II College Softball at St. Cloud State University where she learned the true grit of being a collegiate athlete. She looks forward to sharing her skills in catching and infield, specifically third base, but truly has a passion for hitting as she currently holds the home run record at SCSU. After graduating, Sydney made her way to Texas for a Head Coaching Softball position at a private school where she took the team from a previous .500 winning record to going 7-1. While Sydney is a 24-year-old coach, she is the perfect for because she is not far removed from the game, enjoys helping young women become strong athletes, and highly encourages all athletes to work with her who are serious about growing their game to the next level. Sydney looks forward to getting her head back in the game after moving to Dallas to be closer to her fiancé.

Get to know Coach Sydney

About Me:

My whole life has revolved around the game and I don’t plan on letting it go any time soon. Growing up, I spent most of my weekends playing sports until I got serious about softball in 8th grade. It was softball every weekend after that, playing on the best club ball teams with some of the best players in the state of MN. Working hard, failing and getting back up again, having a burning passion, and loving the game helped me take my game to the next level and even better, taught me great life lessons. I’m ready to help you! Outside of softball, I’m getting married to the love of my life in June, looking to settle down, and currently work from home for an IT company during the day. I enjoy playing pickleball, am in two rec volleyball leagues, and attend church every Thursday and Sunday.

How I can help you improve your game:

I can help you improve your game in several ways. Having been an athlete myself, I know what college coaches are looking for. I will share my knowledge of the game, increase your strategy and mental strength, grow your skill, and teach you to be a good person/player with sportsmanship. If you can show up and give me the allotted time in our sessions, you will grow each time. You might not walk away from every session feeling “your best”, but you’ll have worked through bad habits, mental restraints, and current weaknesses to achieve a higher goal of success down the road. I can help you grow your game in these specific areas: hitting, catching, infield, and base running.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

That depends on you! What are you trying to achieve? If you want to become a better player, we need to hold a baseline “test” to see where you are currently, what you want to grow in or get better at, and discuss ways we can get there. It’s my job to give you the drills to get there, it’s your job to show up and put in the work based on the goals that we set for you. I will ask that you bring a journal to our sessions to write down what we learn each session and what we want to accomplish for the next session. Overall, our training sessions will be based on what the player and coach believe should be the main focus each session so each party is getting something out of each session.

Career summary and accomplishments:

- I played the game for 15 years - In high school, I was a captain my senior year and led the team in home runs - I committed to St. Cloud State University to play softball when I was a Junior in high school - I went into college having completed 41 college credits (my associates degree) - Played 5 years of college ball, obtaining my Master’s Degree in Sports Management - Team captain my senior year of college - Moved away from home and got my first Softball Head Coaching position at a high school. Went 7-1

Best coach I ever had:

Best Coach I ever had was my high school coach. He wrote good practice plans, worked us hard, gave the right amount of criticism and critique but knew how to make us feel confident during times when it was most important, had amazing drills (hitting & infield), and poured into me as a player to be the best I could be. He believed in me!

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Both parents and players should know that I truly have your best interest at heart. I don’t believe the game is easy and so our sessions won’t always be easy, but they will be impactful and teach them the game at a pace that will work well with you. My goal is to help grow your game in a manner that you see fit, while pushing you mentally and physically to be your best. I’ll ask that you give your all each session as I give mine.

Please note that I am newer to the Dallas area and will need help with locations to do lessons. I am willing to travel to you within reason. I can’t wait to get started!

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
