I build character and confidence through connection and accountability.
Talent creates opportunity. Character helps athletes make the most of it. I help athletes build the discipline, confidence, accountability, and leadership they need to grow in their sport and succeed beyond the game. In today’s athletics, where college athletes can earn money and build personal brands through NIL opportunities, character carries real value. Talent can attract attention, but how athletes prepare, communicate, handle pressure, and represent themselves helps build the trust behind lasting opportunities. As a character coach at Basha High School, I work within a state championship football program. My coaching also extends throughout the Chandler Unified School District, helping students and athletes connect everyday choices with long-term success. My approach combines authentic relationships, clear expectations, and firm accountability. We work on responding to correction, handling adversity, preparing consistently, and becoming a dependable teammate. Athletes gain practical habits they can apply immediately, while parents gain a partner who reinforces responsibility, respect, and personal growth. Whether your athlete is pursuing college athletics, future NIL opportunities, or greater confidence and consistency, I help them develop the character to carry the responsibility that comes with success.
I help athletes strengthen their preparation, confidence, focus, accountability, and response to adversity. We work on practical challenges: responding after a mistake, receiving coaching, communicating with teammates, and following through on commitments. My focus is the mental and character side of performance. Together, we identify what needs attention and build habits you can practice alongside your sport-specific training.
We start with a recent experience from practice, competition, or everyday life. I ask questions to understand what happened, how you responded, and what you want to improve. Then we work through a practical skill, such as resetting after a mistake, preparing for competition, or handling a difficult conversation. You leave with a specific action to practice. At our next session, we review what happened and adjust.

The best coach I ever had was Steve White, my high school basketball coach. I was a troubled, at-risk young person, and his influence helped change the direction of my life. His impact reached far beyond basketball and helped shape the husband, father, pastor, and Character & Culture Coach I am today.
I was recruited by Steve Alford and later played two collegiate seasons under Dick Hunsaker at Manchester University. Those experiences were valuable, but Coach White’s influence remains the most personal. He showed me how deeply a coach can affect an athlete’s future. That experience shapes how I work with young people today: their development as people matters alongside their performance as athletes.
My approach is direct, relational, and grounded in respect. I will listen, ask questions, and challenge athletes to take responsibility for what they can control. I care about who an athlete is becoming alongside how they perform.
Athletes should expect clear expectations and practical follow-through. Parents should know that my work centers on mental performance skills, character, and communication. I provide coaching rather than clinical mental health treatment, and I am still completing my graduate studies in Sports Psychology.

After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
