Athletic Background

Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I have been running all my life, mainly because I was faster than all the other kids. In my Sophomore year in high school, I was the fastest guy in 2 schools. A hamstring injury prevented me from getting a Track scholarship. Later, I began to compete in USA Master's open meets and won gold in the 200 and silver in the 400. I compete in Spartan Races and occasionally the 200 meters still. I started coaching USA Track and Field summer track in Dallas, TX, which led to an assistant TF Coaching position at Southwest Christian College in Terrell, Tx. That is where I gained an advanced knowledge of the sport of track and learned some formulas for winning. Held a USATF Level 1 Certification.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best Coach (Coach Porter) I have had was the Collegiate Coach in Terrell, Texas who allowed me to work with him as an assistant coach and trained me to run faster by having competitive practices with the athletes. I learned how to build an athlete with strength, development, endurance, and speed. He also encouraged me to start my own athletic training company.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I am an experienced, results-driven, fair, communicative, gold-oriented, and honest person who believes everyone can become physically better with the right tools, technique, time to develop, positive participation and the right coaching.

Coaching Background

Summary of Coaching Background
Athletic Trainer, TGB Athletics | January 2024 - May 2024 Dallas, TX I implemented a 5-month strength and conditioning program with speed drills for young athletes to improve athletic performance and reduce the risk of injuries for off-season competition. Track & Field Coach, Running Panthers Youth Track Club | 2011 - 2013 Atlanta, GA Responsibilities included recruiting athletes, planning for practices and track meets, and teaching sprinting and speed techniques to keep athletes safe and healthy and excel in performance. I developed the first off-season training program in the 17-year history of the team. Assistant Track & Field Coach, Southwest Christian College | 2002 - 2006 Terrell, TX I helped to develop an unknown track program to one that had achieved over 80 All-Americans (men and women) in various indoor and outdoor events by teaching sprinting and speed techniques to keep athletes safe, productive, and healthy. Our record of achievements: · 2006 Won Men’s 400-meter Indoor National Championship · 2005 Won Outdoor Regional Championship · 2004 – 2005 seasons won 4x400 meter relay, third consecutive National Indoor Champion including winning the 600 meters · 2004 Outdoor National Championship again winning the 4x400 meter relay and 400 meter hurdles · 2003 -2004 Men’s placed 4th in the Indoor National Championship at KSU and won the National Championship in the 4x400 meter relay as well as the 400 meters
How can you help someone improve their game?
By asking what are they trying to achieve in an interview, and then taking a look at their body mechanics (fitness test) to see strengths and weaknesses to determine where improvements can be made. Next, I would design a workout regiment for that athlete and get to work.
What does a typical training session look like?
1. We warm up with a light jog 2. Stretching 3. Drills 4. Briefly talk about the workout for the day 5. Workout 6. Cool down and Feedback Hydrate when needed
