Onwards and upwards!

Hi! My name is Susie, and I am a current soccer player at Harvard University! Harvard is a NCCA Division I program, playing in the Ivy League. I just finished my junior year. I play many different positions, and have played as a winger, striker, midfielder, outside back/wingback, and center back. I played my youth career at ECNL club San Juan Soccer Club, primarily as a winger. I also play semi-professionally with California Storm in the USL and WPSL leagues, and have won the WPSL National Championship with them in 2024. I am a huge Arsenal FC fan, and would love to talk to you about your favorite team! I am here to help you in any way I can, and I can't wait to work with you.

Get to know Coach Susie

About Me:

I play many different positions, but my favorites are left wing and left back. I am footed, and my favorite thing to do in games are take on people 1v1 and cross in the box! I have two older sisters, and a cat and a dog. I'm from California, and I love cold weather! I can talk to you all day about Arsenal FC, my favorite team in England. Besides soccer, I like to read, watch tv with my family and friends, go to the beach, go on hikes, and just hang out with my people.

How I can help you improve your game:

As I have experience in each line of the game, I can help players offensively, defensively, and in the midfield. I watch a lot of film and games, and can help you in specific areas you want to improve, whether it's turning after a progressive touch, scanning the field, breaking lines, and more. We will work together to improve technically, but also discuss how the game works tactically, and what you can improve on there.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

We will always start with some form of technical work, whether that's cone work, simple ball work, juggling, etc. We will then move on to more specified areas that the player wants to work on—if you're an attacker, we can work on combinations to goal, shooting technique, etc. If you're a midfielder, we can work on turning, different types of passes, and accuracy. If you're a defender, we can work on individual defending, clearances, heading, etc. Then we will finish off with a fun activity!

Career summary and accomplishments:

I played recreational soccer through the age of 8, and then turned competitive when I was 9. I played for the ECNL club San Juan Soccer Club from third grade until I graduated high school, winning ECNL All Conference, being invited to id2 and ECNL National Training Camps, and playing in the ECNL Selection Game in Tennessee. I won MVP every year I played in high school, and captained the team twice, winning our first league title in nearly a decade, and reaching the regional final. I now play college soccer at Harvard, where I have won CSC All Academic, and have played in every game since I was a freshman.

Best coach I ever had:

Lloyd Grist, Zeca Neto, Bernardo Silva

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I will work my hardest to help you improve on whatever area you set your mind to (and more!). I am here for you to help in soccer, but I am also here to help you with other concerns you have—growing up with school and soccer is tough, amidst things like injuries and playing time concerns, and I want to support you through all of it! I am always here to chat and help you work through any other troubles.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.

AU was created by former collegiate and professional athletes. We understand the benefits of training with a private coach. It develops discipline, boosts confidence, and provides an undeniable advantage - whether you are just learning the game or looking to earn a college scholarship. All AU coaches are required to pass a thorough onboarding process and we proudly showcase a 10% acceptance rate, so you can trust you're training with the best.

At the end of the day, our mission is to provide athletes with better opportunities to succeed through coaching. You won't find a platform, and group of dedicated specialists, more excited to help you achieve your athletic goals!
