Building confident swimmers and strong setters, one lesson at a time.

I've spent over 12 years in the water — as a competitive club and high school swimmer, a lifeguard, a swim instructor, and a dive coach, with a special love for teaching littles as young as 6 months. On land, I bring the same energy as a former starting setter to help volleyball athletes sharpen their skills for club and school competition. Whether your child is taking their first breath underwater or chasing a spot on varsity, I'll meet them where they are and help them build real confidence.

About me

I've lived in Arizona my whole life and have spent over 12 years in the water, swimming competitively with club teams and my high school, with my earliest coaching coming from my own grandfather who coached at the YMCA and Sunnyslope high school for many years. That foundation turned into a career: I've worked as a certified swim instructor, lifeguard, recreational swim coach, and dive coach, teaching everyone from 6-month-olds to adults learning to swim for the first time or improving on previous skills. Volleyball has been just as much a part of my life as swimming. I played as a starting setter through club and high school, and I'm excited to bring that competitive experience into coaching for the first time. Whatever your age or goal, I'm here to help you feel confident and capable

For swimmers, I focus on building strong fundamentals first — water comfort, breathing, and stroke technique — before layering in speed and endurance, whether you're a nervous beginner or a competitive swimmer sharpening your form. For volleyball athletes, I draw on my years as a starting setter to help you read the court, improve ball control, and build the decision-making that separates good players from great ones. In both sports, I tailor my coaching to where you are right now, so progress feels steady instead of overwhelming.

Every session starts with a warm-up and a quick check-in, so I know how you're feeling and what to focus on that day. From there, we break skills down into manageable pieces — whether that's a stroke drill in the pool or a setting pattern on the court — with plenty of repetition and real-time feedback. I keep the environment encouraging and patient, especially for younger or newer athletes, while still pushing more advanced athletes toward specific, measurable goals. We'll close with a cool-down and a quick recap of what we worked on and what's next.

12+ years of competitive swimming with club teams and high school, including early training under my grandfather. Was employed as a swim instructor, lifeguard, recreational swim coach, and dive coach over a few years. Specialized experience teaching infants and toddlers (6 months–5 years), adult learn-to-swim, and competitive recreational swimmers. Starting setter for club and high school volleyball teams with many years' experience on the court.

Without question, my grandfather. He was the one who first put me in the water and coached me long before I ever joined a club team. What made him such a great coach wasn't just the technical knowledge, but his patience and the way he made you feel like every small improvement mattered. He never rushed the process, and he always believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself yet. That's the standard I try to hold myself to with every athlete I coach today.

I take patience and safety seriously, especially with young or new swimmers — I want every athlete to feel comfortable before we push toward bigger goals. I've spent many years around the water and the volleyball court, as both a competitive athlete and an instructor, so I understand what it feels like to be on both sides of the coaching relationship. I'm big on encouragement and clear, step-by-step feedback rather than pressure, and I genuinely celebrate progress at every level, whether that's a first successful float or making a club team. Parents can expect open communication about how their athlete is doing, and athletes can expect a coach who's fully present for every session.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
