I'm Renard, a New Jersey native raised in a family where athleticism and drive are in the DNA — both of my sisters earned Division I scholarships in track, and that competitive spirit has shaped everything I do. I lead by example, blazing the trail first and then turning around to bring others along with me.
I'm a marathon runner and a Type 1 diabetic, which has made health and wellness a core part of my lifestyle — not just a hobby, but a discipline. At my core, I'm driven by three things: investing in the future, building a legacy, and making a meaningful impact on the people and communities around me.
Over the years I've learned a lot about what works and what doesn't in this game — but at the end of the day, it all comes back to confidence. Everything I do in training is built around simulating real game situations, so that when the moment comes, your body just reacts. Muscle memory isn't given, it's earned through purposeful repetition. Beyond the physical, I focus heavily on basketball IQ — helping athletes develop a deeper understanding of the game by becoming true students of it. And honestly, the lessons we work on between the lines go far beyond basketball. The discipline, the resilience, the ability to perform under pressure — those are life skills, and that's what I'm really here to build.
Every session is tailored specifically to the athlete — built around their strengths and areas of growth, because no two players are the same. What stays consistent across every workout though is conditioning. That's non-negotiable, and it's woven throughout the entire session from start to finish. From there, sessions are structured but dynamic. We start with the foundation — dribbling and footwork, because if you can't handle the ball and move with purpose, nothing else matters. From there we move into shooting, working through spot shooting and catch-and-shoot reps to build that consistent stroke. Then we bring it all together through live, game-realistic breakdowns — going against a defender, making decisions under pressure, and finishing plays confidently and efficiently. I am a recent college graduate from North Carolina A&T State University. Now I'm currently at Wells Fargo where I work in marketing and data analytics, building a foundation in the financial world I'm deeply passionate about.
The coaches that impacted me the most were my middle school coach, Coach Derrick, and my junior year coach at Spire, Coach Briski. What made them special wasn't just what they taught me about the game — it was that they genuinely believed in me as a person, on and off the court. That kind of unconditional support is something you can't put a price on, and it stuck with me.
But they also weren't afraid to hold me accountable. When I was slacking or not playing up to my potential, they got on me — and honestly, that's exactly what I needed. If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
