Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I ever had was Coach Porter, who was mainly my competitive cheerleading coach but assisted with track & field as well. Coach Porter was three words: knowledgable, accountable, and empathetic. She took the time to teach us the old & new of the sport as well cues that allowed us to perform better. With that, she always took into account our stress with school & moving to the collegiate level.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Athletes and parents should know that I am optimistic, detailed, and provide tough love. Those are the best words to describe me as an athlete, coach, and person.

How can you help someone improve their game?
By using visualization techniques, sport-specific training, and enforcing gameday approaches. When someone can visualize themselves completing a race, defending a player, or landing a back handspring, motor skills we have practiced/learned will fall in place. Motor skills such as running, jumping, throwing, etc. can be translated to the sport or the position the athlete holds on the team. Furthermore, placing these visualization techniques and motor skills with gameday approaches (setting up blocks, running the correct route, critical thinking) limits anixety, dips in confidence, and increases internal removal of distractions at crucial times.
What does a typical training session look like?
General flow for all sessions:
*Warm up / Mobility / Mental dump --
*Basic techniques assessment --
*Fine tune techniques --
*Main workout (competitive edge, gameday run-throughs, skills work, light resistance training) --
*Evaluation / Cool down / Plan next workout --
Parents/guardians may be asked to work on these at home or join in the session!
