Professional Pitcher, Collegiate Coach. Become a better athlete with me.

I am a professional baseball pitcher, collegiate coach, and performance trainer dedicated to helping athletes reach their next level. Through my experience with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Rochester Ridgemen, Royal Oak Leprechauns, Calvin University Baseball, and Sluggers Sports Academy, I have gained a unique perspective on what it takes to develop as an athlete at every stage of the game. My approach combines professional playing experience, strength and conditioning principles, and individualized coaching to create programs that improve performance while building confidence and resilience. I believe great coaching starts with relationships, which is why my philosophy is built around being honest, compassionate, and committed to long-term growth. I challenge athletes to embrace failure as part of the process, understand that improvement takes time, and develop the discipline needed to achieve their goals. Through Athletes Untapped, I hope to provide athletes with the guidance, accountability, and mentorship they need to become stronger players and better individuals both on and off the field.

About me

I am a professional baseball pitcher, collegiate coach, and performance trainer passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential both on and off the field. My journey through professional baseball, collegiate athletics, private training, and coaching has given me a unique perspective on what it takes to develop as an athlete at every level.

I have competed as a pitcher for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the MLB Draft League, the Rochester Ridgemen in the New York Collegiate Baseball League, and the Royal Oak Leprechauns in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and Northwoods League. These experiences taught me the importance of preparation, discipline, resilience, and embracing the daily process required to succeed in baseball.

Beyond playing, I have developed athletes as a trainer at Sluggers Sports Academy, where I have worked with baseball and softball players on pitching development, strength training, mobility, injury prevention, and overall athletic performance. I am also beginning my collegiate coaching career at Anderson University, where I will continue mentoring and developing student-athletes.

My coaching philosophy is built around being honest, compassionate, and committed to long-term growth. I believe athletes need coaches who will challenge them while also supporting them through the process. Rome was not built in a day, and neither is an athlete—true development comes from consistent work, learning through failure, and trusting the process.

My goal is to help every athlete I work with become stronger, more confident, and better prepared to achieve their goals.

My goal is to provide athletes with individualized coaching that improves performance while building the habits and mindset needed for long-term success. Every athlete is different, which is why I focus on creating programs tailored to each player's goals, experience level, position, and current abilities.

With my background as a professional pitcher and coach, I can help athletes improve areas including pitching mechanics, velocity development, strength, speed, mobility, and overall athleticism. I combine my playing experience with my education in kinesiology and upcoming NASM Certified Personal Trainer certification to create training plans that are both practical and performance-driven.

I believe improvement comes from a combination of skill development, physical preparation, and mental growth. I help athletes understand not only what they need to improve, but why they are doing it. Whether an athlete is trying to make a varsity team, earn a college opportunity, improve their performance, or prepare for the next level, I provide the accountability, knowledge, and support needed to make consistent progress.

My coaching style is flexible and collaborative—I welcome feedback, encourage questions, and adjust programs based on each athlete's needs. At the same time, I hold athletes accountable to the standards and work ethic required to reach their goals.

Every lesson starts with a conversation. Before we begin training, I want to understand your goals, what you are working toward, and what areas you feel you need to improve. Whether you are trying to increase velocity, improve mechanics, become a stronger athlete, prepare for a season, or simply build more confidence on the field, our plan will be built around your individual needs.

From there, we will discuss what we will be focusing on during that lesson. Each session will have a purpose, whether that is refining a specific skill, working through a drill progression, improving movement patterns, or developing a better understanding of how to train effectively. I understand that every athlete has different resources, experience levels, and capabilities when it comes to remote training, so I will always be flexible and adjust our approach to make sure you are getting the most out of each session.

A major part of my coaching process is reflection and communication. We will talk through what went well from your previous lesson, practice, or game, as well as identify areas where you can continue improving. Baseball is a game built around adjustments, and learning how to evaluate your performance is one of the most important skills an athlete can develop.

At the end of each lesson, you will leave with a clear plan for what comes next. I will provide drills, training focuses, and areas to work on independently so you can continue improving between sessions. My goal is not just to help you have a better lesson—it is to help you become a better athlete by giving you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to continue developing on your own.

Every athlete's journey is different, and my job is to help you create a path that fits your goals while holding you accountable throughout the process.

Coach Jonathan Vance had a tremendous impact on me as both a player and a person because he understood that developing athletes goes beyond teaching the game of baseball. He created an environment built on accountability, trust, and genuine relationships. He challenged me to become a better pitcher, but more importantly, he challenged me to become a better teammate, leader, and person.

What stood out most about Coach Vance was his ability to balance high expectations with genuine care for his players. He believed in holding athletes accountable while also understanding that every player has a different journey and needs support along the way. He taught me the importance of preparation, consistency, and bringing the right mindset every single day.

The lessons I learned from Coach Vance continue to shape how I coach today. I strive to create the same type of environment for my athletes—one where they feel supported, challenged, and confident that their coach believes in them. Great coaches do more than improve performance; they positively influence the people their athletes become. Coach Vance is a great example of that.

Athletes and parents should know that I genuinely care about the person behind the player. While performance and development are important, I believe the best athletes are built through confidence, discipline, accountability, and a strong work ethic.

I will always be honest with my athletes. I believe players deserve coaches who will tell them the truth while helping them understand how to improve. My approach is direct, but it is always rooted in compassion and a desire to help athletes succeed.

I also understand that development takes time. Baseball is a game built around failure, and learning how to respond to challenges is one of the most valuable skills an athlete can develop. I remind my players that Rome wasn't built in a day—progress comes from consistent effort, trusting the process, and being willing to learn from setbacks.

Parents can expect clear communication, professionalism, and a coach who treats their athlete with respect. I want athletes to leave every interaction with me feeling more confident, more prepared, and more motivated to continue improving.

My ultimate goal is not just to help athletes become better baseball players—it is to help them become stronger competitors, better teammates, and more successful individuals.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
