Soccer Training that Builds Better Athletes

I'm Nicolas, a former NCAA collegiate soccer player and athletic performance coach. I help athletes improve their soccer skills while building the speed, strength, agility, and confidence needed to perform at their highest level. Every training session is tailored to the athlete's goals, whether that's making the varsity team, preparing for club soccer, increasing athleticism, or learning proper weightlifting techniques. My coaching combines technical soccer development with proven strength and conditioning principles to help athletes become faster, stronger, and more confident both on and off the field.

About me

Soccer has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I competed at the NCAA Division III level, where I learned firsthand the commitment, discipline, and work ethic it takes to improve every day. Throughout my journey, I developed a passion not only for competing but also for helping others reach their potential.

I believe every athlete can improve with the right coaching, consistency, and mindset. Whether you're new to the game or striving to compete at a higher level, I'm dedicated to creating a positive environment where you can grow both as a player and as a person.

My training is built around your individual goals. Together we'll identify the areas that will have the biggest impact on your performance and create a plan to improve them. Sessions can include technical ball work, finishing, passing, first touch, position-specific training, speed and agility, conditioning, strength development, and movement mechanics.

I focus on teaching the "why" behind every drill so athletes build confidence, make better decisions on the field, and develop habits that translate into game-day success. My goal is for every athlete to leave each session more skilled, more confident, and excited to keep improving.

Every session is designed around your goals and current skill level. We begin with a dynamic warm-up and movement preparation to reduce injury risk and get your body ready to perform. From there, we'll focus on the areas that will have the biggest impact on your game, whether that's ball mastery, passing, shooting, first touch, position-specific skills, speed, agility, or strength development.

I believe in high-energy, game-like training that challenges athletes while building confidence. You'll receive immediate feedback throughout the session, and we'll finish by reviewing key takeaways so you leave knowing exactly what to continue working on before our next session.

My soccer journey has allowed me to compete at every level, from youth and high school to collegiate soccer. Those experiences shaped my understanding of what it takes to succeed and are the foundation of my coaching.

Highlights include:

Years of experience training in strength, speed, agility, and athletic performance

The best coach I've had was Coach John. He gave me confidence and trusted me to play freely, which helped me perform at my best. One of the biggest lessons I learned from him was the importance of the mental side of soccer. He taught us how to stay composed under pressure, make smart decisions, and focus on the next play instead of dwelling on mistakes.

Before coaching my club team, Coach John coached at Bowdoin College, and he brought many of those collegiate training methods into our sessions. He emphasized playing within a team system, so every player understood their role, which helped us play together with confidence and purpose.

He also incorporated breathing and movement exercises into our warm-ups to help us stay calm, control our heart rate, and prepare mentally before training and games. In soccer, being able to slow yourself down in high-pressure moments helps you make better decisions and execute with confidence. Those lessons have had a lasting impact on how I approach the game and how I want to coach others.

Athletes and parents should know that I genuinely care about each athlete's growth, both on and off the field. My goal isn't just to help players improve their soccer skills but to build confidence, develop strong work habits, and create a positive environment where athletes enjoy training and look forward to getting better.

I believe improvement comes from consistency, effort, and attention to detail. I'll challenge athletes to push themselves while making sure they understand why we're doing each drill and how it translates to game situations. Every player develops at their own pace, and I'm committed to helping each athlete reach their full potential.

As a former collegiate player, I understand the dedication it takes to compete at a high level, and I'm excited to share those experiences and lessons with the next generation of athletes. My priority is to make every session productive, encouraging, and fun.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

  • Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.
