Playing Experience: I am from Pakistan and in Pakistan I was a professional field hockey player and have represented one of the most prestigious/elite Men's field Hockey teams. Coaching Experience: Eastern Connecticut State University: I joined the University as an Assistant Coach and during my first year as a coach, I not only turned the team around where they had more wins than losses but also won their first Conference Championship. Lincoln High School: I was coaching Lincoln High School and before I joined, in the last three years Lincoln High could not even score a goal in RIIL Division League and were losing by double digits to every team in the division. I took the challenge to coach Lincoln High and joined the School as an Assistant coach and just like ECSU, my efforts helped Lincoln High to change things around and Lincoln High not just scored goals but was able to qualify for the Semi Finals two years in a row, where Lincoln High lost to the number one team after a grueling game, however, eventually winning the Division championship. I also coached at Sagra Field Hockey Camp and Johnson & Wales University Club.

About Me:

Little background on me:

I am from Pakistan and in Pakistan I was a professional field hockey player and have represented one of the most prestigious/elite Men's field Hockey teams. I am sure that you must be aware that today Pakistan stands among the top men's field hockey teams in the world and during the 80's and 90's (when I was playing) Pakistan won the World, Olympic, Asian, Azlan Shah etc. championships. In other words, Pakistan Men's hockey team won every major Men's field hockey title/tournament in the world and was unbeatable. I am proud to hail from that era and I am proud to have played field hockey with and against the best players of the world.

How I can help you improve your game:

I have a tremendous field hockey playing and coaching experience. I can help in the development of student athletes skills, mindset and physical abilities that is required to become a great field hockey player.

Career summary and accomplishments:

Coaching at Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU): Previously, I was coaching at the Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU). Before I joined, the University was struggling, and the team was always placed at the bottom in its conference. Throughout University’s field hockey history, the losses were always more than the wins and in the past several years the University was able to win at the most 6 out of 15 games in a regular season. I took the challenge to coach the ECSU team and in the first year of my coaching I made ECSU the best team in the conference. I joined the University as an Assistant Coach and during my first year as a coach, I not only turned the team around where they had more wins than losses but also won their first Conference Championship. The team was placed number 3rd in the conference standings for the first time in its history (tied with number 2nd team 9-3 and was placed third due to goal differential). During my first year of coaching, there were many firsts in the 27-year history of the school: -First time the team won the Conference Championship -First time the team qualified for the NCAA division tournament -First time the team secured 3rd position within the conference -First time the team’s overall record was more wins than losses -First time the team was able to beat teams that the University has not beaten in its 25-year history i.e., Keene State College, University of Southern Maine, Springfield College, Worcester State University etc. In short, the ECSU team created history in the first year of my coaching. Just to add here is that since I left i.e., second year of my coaching, the team is again placed at the bottom of the conference. The irony of the situation is that these were the same girls that won a championship a year earlier. Coaching at Lincoln High School: Before ECSU, I was coaching Lincoln High School and before I joined, in the last three years Lincoln High could not even score a goal in RIIL Division League and were losing by double digits to every team in the division. I took the challenge to coach Lincoln High and joined the School as an Assistant/co-head coach and just like ECSU, my efforts helped Lincoln High to change things around and Lincoln High not just scored goals but was able to qualify for the Semi Finals two years in a row, where Lincoln High lost to the number one team after a grueling game. However, in my last year Lincoln High girls were able to put up a great fight and won the Division championship. These are the same girls that in the past several years could not even score a goal and were getting destroyed by every team but within three months of training with me they were staring down the champions and finally won it. In other words, like ECSU Lincoln high also has many first in the first year of my coaching such as: -first time won the championship in a decade -first time beat teams that they have not beaten in a decade -first time they scored goals in several years -first time they had a player among first 10 leading goal scorers in the division in the history of LHS Like ECSU, Lincoln high school also created history in the first few years of my coaching.

Best coach I ever had:

I had many coaches and consider them all equally good, as they were all elite club level coaches and they played a significant role in my development as a field hockey player.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I have played field hockey (Men's) at the highest levels and was coached by elite coaches. I carry tremendous playing and coaching field hockey experience and wish to share that experience with field hockey students. I can assure you that my experience will greatly benefit the student field hockey players.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
