I’m a former Division I football athlete and multisport competitor now pursuing a doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a health psychology focus. I combine firsthand athletic experience, youth mentorship, and psychology training to help athletes strengthen confidence, focus, resilience, and their ability to respond to pressure and setbacks—while keeping the person behind the athlete at the center.

About me

I’m a former Division I football athlete and multi-sport competitor with experience in football, lacrosse (7yrs), ice hockey (5yrs), baseball (2yrs) and soccer (1yr). Today, I’m a Clinical Psychology doctoral student specializing in health psychology, with clinical training in adolescent behavioral health, psychological assessment, and integrated primary care.

Growing up in Oakland, California, shaped my understanding of the role sports can play in creating structure, confidence, community, and opportunity—especially for athletes from inner-city and underserved backgrounds. My own experiences in competitive sports also exposed me to the mental side of athletics, including confidence, injury, performance pressure, identity, setbacks, and the importance of having trusted mentors.

My coaching approach combines athletic experience, mentorship, and evidence-informed principles from psychology. I focus on helping athletes improve their fundamentals while developing confidence, discipline, resilience, focus, and a healthy competitive mindset.

I believe athletes perform best when they feel challenged, supported, and understood. My goal is to help each athlete become more confident in their abilities, more intentional in their preparation, and better equipped to respond to adversity both on and off the field.

My goal is to help athletes understand not only what they need to improve, but how to approach practice, competition, mistakes, and pressure with greater intention. I especially enjoy helping athletes build confidence, develop a strong competitive mindset, and learn how to reset after difficult plays, injuries, or setbacks.

Every session is individualized around the athlete’s goals. We typically start with a brief check-in and identify one or two areas of focus for the day. From there, we work through skill development and competitive drills while incorporating concepts such as focus, confidence, communication, preparation, and responding to mistakes.

I believe athletes learn best when they understand the purpose behind what they are doing, so I provide direct feedback while encouraging athletes to problem-solve and develop greater awareness of their own performance.

We finish by identifying what went well, what needs continued work, and one specific goal the athlete can take into their next practice or competition.

The best coach I ever had was Coach Holland. What stood out was his attention to detail and his ability to teach the mental side of the game. He spent time helping me visualize the field, understand offensive concepts, and recognize where plays were developing before the ball was snapped.

As a linebacker, we specifically worked on depth drops, spacing, reading keys, and understanding how my positioning affected the entire defense. He taught me not to simply react, but to anticipate and understand why I was moving to a certain area of the field.

That approach shaped how I think about coaching today: slow the game down, build understanding, and help athletes develop the confidence to trust what they see and react decisively.

I care about the person behind the athlete.

Having competed at a high level myself, I understand that sports can bring tremendous opportunity and enjoyment, but also pressure, frustration, injuries, confidence struggles, and expectations to always appear tough.

Growing up in Oakland also gave me an appreciation for athletes from inner-city and underserved communities and the different experiences they may bring into competitive sports.

My approach is supportive, direct, culturally aware, and development-focused. I want athletes to feel challenged without feeling discouraged and confident enough to ask questions, make mistakes, and continue improving.

My background in clinical psychology also influences how I communicate with athletes, but my role through Athletes Untapped is coaching and mentorship- not psychotherapy. My goal is to help athletes build skills, confidence, resilience, accountability, and habits they can carry both in sports and in life.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
