Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
Private Tennis Coach since 2013 in Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and Beverly Hills. Currently growing with Athletes Untapped. Former state finalist. I have coached in the 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5 levels of USTA. I have coached and hit with college level players, open players, and I have discussed the game and the mentality of competing with pro level tour players. I understand the levels, the mental game, and what it takes to jump to the next level. It's important to have fun and feel safe and free to enjoy yourself and your tennis and I know how to create that environment for everyone. Every lesson ends with a smile and a good feeling!
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
Jim Leupold in Palm Desert, CA at the Marriott. He is simply amazing! And a fun, nice guy! He is a brilliant instructor.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
A student of the game should leave a court at the end of a lesson or play with some level of happiness and accomplishment. Just being able to step on a court and trying your best is a triumph in itself and that is to be celebrated! Setting goals is important too. Tennis is a wonderful sport to enjoy, as well as focusing to be the best one can be. I want every student to feel like the hour was fun and successful.

How can you help someone improve their game?
I will improve your game by listening to you. Let's figure out how to take you to the next level. Let's discuss how you play, what it is like for you to play a match. Let's talk about what you feel like mentally when you compete. Or - if you just want to be a better hitter and not play events - let's work on getting your game structured and consistent. There's many ways to improve - so let's discuss and plan it together!
What does a typical training session look like?
A training session with Mike is custom designed with the student. What are the goals? Are we here to hit and have relaxed fun, or are we here to make it on the college team? Whatever the goal is - it's a plan with both coach and student.
