Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I've been involved in the sport of softball since I was four years old, beginning to play travel ball at age fourteen. I started on the varsity softball team at my high school all four years, earning all-conference honors all four years, and second team all-state honors my senior year.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
My best coach was a private catching coach I trained under who changed the way I viewed the game mentally and gave me the drills to practice to become successful. He helped me overcome lack of confidence and play with an undefeatable attitude.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I love connecting with young players and helping them reach success. Nobody loves the game more than me and I want to help athletes enjoy the game while growing as a person and player.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I had to turn down college offers due to head trauma from concussions sustained through high school and instead opted to return to coach at the high school I had played for during my second year of college. I was then the Head Coach of that high school team my senior year of college before relocating to the Springs.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I can help young athletes set realistic goals for themselves to improve, develop the mentality that softball players need to overcome slumps and errors to preform at a high level, learn drills that will grow their game, and help them become students of the game.
What does a typical training session look like?
I will tailor the sessions to the player, but it will involve touching base on what the player wants to achieve and them practicing simple drills to develop their skills and athleticism. The end of the sessions will put the skills learned into a more practical context.
