Hi! I'm a Division I Swimmer and senior team captain at Villanova with many years of experience teaching swim lessons and mentoring younger athletes. I love helping swimmers of all levels improve their technique and confidence in the water. Having navigated my own challenges in the sport, including rebuilding my strength and confidence after a shoulder surgery, I'm excited to help other younger athletes become faster and more resilient swimmers! Location FYI: Weekday sessions I'm available to coach at Villanova's on-campus pool during open-swim hours on Mon/Wed/Fri, but weekend sessions I can travel to you and coach at your home pool since the Villanova pool is closed weekends!

About Me:

I'm currently a Division I swimmer at Villanova University, but I have swum competitively for over 15 years: at the national level with my local club team in Greenville SC, and at the international level when my family lived overseas in Amsterdam for 4 years! I typically swim mid-distance/distance freestyle events in college (I'd consider the 200 and 500 free my fav events), but I have also always been very versatile and loved all the strokes! Alongside my swimming career, I have taught both private and group swim lessons since I was 15, and am currently an Athlete Mentor through the program Athlete to Athlete.

How I can help you improve your game:

I usually focus on stroke mechanics and technique tips during lessons (can include starts, turns, underwaters, etc), but will tailor each session to the specific athlete and their goals!

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Swim sessions typically last 60 minutes - I start with a warmup, some technique drills, then about 45 minutes of tailored drills for each athlete's needs.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I am a 2-time Big East Champion as a member of the 800 freestyle relay, I am a 6-time South Carolina high school champion (in the 200 free, 500 free, and 100 breast), and one of my favorite fun facts from my swimming career is that in 2017, I was the Dutch National Champion in the 400m IM!

Best coach I ever had:

I feel grateful to have had a lot of great coaches throughout my swimming career, but my very first coach who really got me into swimming and still keeps in touch with me today is Coach Roy!

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I am excited to work with your swimmer, and am very flexible on weekends (willing to come to you and your pool!) but am unfortunately more limited on weekdays due to having to work around the Villanova pool's open hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
