World-ranked 800m runner and Big 12 Champion helping athletes master speed

I'm a Big 12 Champion, All-American, and 800m school record holder for my 800 i have ran 1:45 outdoor and 1:46 indoor. I bring world-level experience and a detailed, athlete-first coaching style to every session. After competing at the highest levels of Division I and ranking among the top middle-distance runners in the world, I’ve learned what it truly takes to develop speed, efficiency, confidence, and race IQ. My coaching focuses on teaching athletes the exact mechanics, drills, and strategies that elevated my own performance—from building explosiveness and strength through proper form to mastering pacing, rhythm, and tactical racing in the 800m and beyond. I’ve coached youth athletes taking their first steps in track, high school runners pursuing varsity spots or scholarships, and college athletes looking for that next competitive edge. Every athlete gets a personalized approach tailored to their goals, ability, and mindset. My sessions break movements down clearly, emphasize progression, and keep the energy high so athletes feel supported and challenged. My mission is simple: help athletes unlock more speed, improve their technique, and compete with a level of confidence and purpose that carries beyond the track.

About Me:

My name is Lloyd Frilot. I’m a Big 12 Champion, All-American, and 800m school record holder who has competed at the highest levels of NCAA Division I track & field. I completed my Psychology degree at the University of Houston, where I began developing my understanding of athlete behavior, motivation, and mental performance. I later continued my academic and athletic journey at TCU, where I refined my training, broke school records, and earned a top-60 world ranking in the 800m.

My coaching approach blends elite competition experience with my educational background in psychology. I focus on speed mechanics, race strategy, efficient form, and building the mental confidence athletes need to improve and compete. I’ve coached youth athletes learning the basics, high school runners pursuing varsity spots and college opportunities, and college-level athletes looking for the extra edge that separates good from great.

Athletics, discipline, and community have shaped who I am. I grew up in a military household, stayed active in my church, and learned early the value of hard work and accountability. My goal is to help every athlete unlock their full potential with patience, clarity, and proven training methods from my own NCAA journey.

How I can help you improve your game:

I can help you improve your game by breaking down your mechanics, strengthening your speed and efficiency, and teaching you the same race strategies I used as a Big 12 Champion and All-American. Whether you need cleaner form, faster splits, or more confidence in competition, I’ll give you clear instruction, personalized workouts, and proven D1-level drills to help you run smarter, faster, and more efficiently.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

A typical training session with me is high-energy, structured, and fully focused on your goals. We start with a dynamic warm-up to open your hips, activate your core, and prepare your body the same way NCAA athletes do. Then we move into technique work: drills to clean up posture, stride mechanics, arm action, and breathing. After that, we apply those mechanics through speed development, pace work, or race-specific reps depending on your event and training plan. Throughout the session I give real-time cues, corrections, and breakdowns so you understand why you’re doing each movement. We finish with cooldown, mobility, and a quick review so you leave feeling faster, smarter, and more confident.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I am a Big 12 Champion, NCAA All-American, and 800m school record holder with experience competing at the highest levels of Division I and national competition. I raced for the University of Houston and TCU, breaking program records and earning a top-60 world ranking in the 800m. My career includes appearances at major NCAA championships, elite invitationals, and U.S. national-level meets—where I’ve lined up against some of the best middle-distance athletes in the country, including U.S. champion and world-class runner Bryce Hoppel. Competing in these environments has given me a deep understanding of speed mechanics, race strategy, tactical positioning, and mental preparation at the highest level. I bring this elite experience to every athlete I coach, helping them develop the speed, efficiency, and confidence required to compete at their best.

Best coach I ever had:

I’ve been coached and mentored by two of the greatest minds in track & field—Olympic legend Carl Lewis and U.S. Olympian Khadevis Robinson. Training under them taught me world-class mechanics, discipline, race strategy, and the mindset needed to compete at the highest level. Their influence is a huge part of how I coach today.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

Athletes and parents should know that I take coaching seriously and treat every athlete with the same level of care and attention I give to my own training. I’m a Big 12 Champion, All-American, and 800m school record holder who has been coached by legends like Carl Lewis and Khadevis Robinson, and I bring those world-class standards into every session. I’m patient, reliable, and detail-oriented. I break things down clearly, explain the “why,” and make sure athletes improve safely and confidently. Your athlete will be pushed, supported, and taught the right way—mechanics, mindset, discipline, and long-term growth.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you find yourself needing to cancel or adjust your booking within 24 hours of your purchase, just let us know. We'll provide a refund - no questions asked. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we're here to support your learning journey.
