Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I was fortunate to work with Chivas USA for twelve years; I was in charge of the pre-development academy. My job was to help players improve their IQ and promote them to the academy teams. I was fortunate to be part of the Galaxy training camps and worked with US and international elite athletes. I was part of the Coaching staff at Cerritos College in the 2018 National Championship Team. I am a former MLS NEXT and EAL Coach. I was able to help players improve their game and kept them moving forward from Elite Academy to MLS NEXT Teams. Some of my players moved to professional academies in Mexico.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
My best coach was my Father. He was always there for me, never gave me negative feedback, and always encouraged me to give my best at every training session and game. He told me that if I gave my all and lost the game, it was a good game, but if I did not give my best, I needed to find out why and improve my work ethic.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I am passionate about teaching the game and improving the player's self-esteem. I believe players can reach their goals with positive guidance and encouragement. You can make mistakes, which is how you grow as a person and player. Once you start to see how you have control of your actions, you can reach your goals by working on those actions.

How can you help someone improve their game?
The training is developed based on your goals. Let me know what you want to improve, and we can work on your personal development plan. Example: Improve scoring opportunities as a striker; I can develop your session based on your goal—quick movements to create space to shoot. Improve heading opportunities - develop the training on movement to space and attack the ball.
What does a typical training session look like?
The sessions will focus on your goal. We need to make sure you warm up properly to prevent injuries. In the warm-up, I use bands to help you strengthen your lower extremities and core. The first exercise will focus on the skill you want to improve. We move forward from that exercise to a more complex exercise that will help you improve decisions during games (trying to enhance your futbol IQ). Lastly, we finish with an intense game-like scenario, work on your cool-down, and talk about how the training helped you and what we can work on to improve the next session. My goal is to help you improve however you want to improve.
