Get to know Coach Lincoln

About Me:

I started my career at North Hall High School where we were annual state championship contender in the state of Georgia. From there, I played at South Georgia State College where I graduated with an associates degree. I then played 2 years at Greensboro College where I was an all-conference outfielder.

How I can help you improve your game:

I help players improve by focusing on their unique needs and strengthening their skills in a structured way:

Targeted Skill Development: I assess each player’s strengths and weaknesses, focusing on fundamentals and refining techniques in hitting, fielding, and baserunning.

Game IQ: I teach situational awareness and smart decision-making, helping players understand the why behind every play.

Mental Toughness: I work on building resilience, so players can handle pressure and setbacks with confidence.

Effective Practice Routines: I create routines that target specific skills, ensuring each practice leads to real progress.

Positive Motivation: I encourage players, celebrating small wins and keeping them engaged and excited to improve.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Certainly, here’s a more detailed version:

Each session begins with a quick warm-up to get the body ready and focused. From there, we dive into a video evaluation, where we review the player’s form and technique to pinpoint areas for improvement. By seeing themselves in action, players gain a clear understanding of specific adjustments they need to make.

Next, we focus on targeted mechanical adjustments. I guide players through drills that address any technical issues, breaking down each movement to ensure they’re executing with precision and control.

Finally, we apply these changes in real game-like scenarios. This allows players to integrate the adjustments into live-action situations, reinforcing their skills and building confidence in their ability to perform under game conditions.

This structured approach ensures players understand, practice, and can effectively apply each improvement to their game.

Career summary and accomplishments:

In my debut season with Elon University Baseball in 2023, our coaching staff helped the Phoenix achieve an impressive three top-25 victories, including wins over No. 2 Wake Forest and No. 9 Campbell at Latham Park. In that first season, seven Elon players earned spots on the CAA all-conference team. Under our guidance, the team achieved 33 victories, the highest win total since 2019, and secured a second-place finish in the conference. Coach Kennedy, Elon’s head coach, shared his thoughts on my impact, saying, “We’re excited to have Lincoln join the Elon Baseball family. His passion and energy for the game and teaching it will be an asset to our program. I believe Lincoln has a bright future in this profession, and we are excited he has chosen to come on board.” Before joining Elon, I coached at Greensboro College, my alma mater, as a hitting coach and recruiting coordinator. Prior to that, I spent three years in the same role at Pfeiffer University, where I specialized in developing hitters and outfielders. Additionally, I served as the hitting coach for the Coastal Plain League’s High Point-Thomasville HiToms in the summer of 2021. Under my direction, the HiToms led the league in home runs and total bases, and they ranked second and third in runs and RBIs, respectively. With my experience and dedication to developing skilled, confident players, I’m excited to help players grow, learn, and succeed both on and off the field.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coach that I have ever had is my high school coach, Trent Mongero. His knowledge and teachings of the game still impact me to this day.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

As a coach, I’m committed to helping each player reach their full potential in a positive, motivating environment. My coaching philosophy combines skill development with mental toughness, aiming to instill confidence and a true love for the game in every player. I bring experience, patience, and enthusiasm to each session, always focusing on the fundamentals while introducing advanced skills when players are ready.

Parents can expect a coach who values communication and teamwork. I prioritize clear, constructive feedback and tailor my approach to each player’s needs, strengths, and goals. I’m dedicated to creating an encouraging atmosphere where players feel comfortable learning, making mistakes, and pushing their boundaries. My goal is to support both players and parents in the journey of developing well-rounded, passionate athletes who are ready to excel on and off the field.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
