Get to know Lantz

Developing elite athletes. Building even better people.

Hi, I’m Lantz. I’m a former collegiate and professional lacrosse player with over 13 years of coaching and training experience. I’ve worked with athletes from the youth level all the way through college, helping them improve their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game. As a Junior College All-American, two-time NCAA National Champion at Salisbury University, and former professional player, I’ve experienced what it takes to compete at the highest levels. But what I’m most passionate about is giving back by helping the next generation reach their own goals. Whether your athlete is just learning the fundamentals, preparing for varsity, or striving to play in college, I tailor every session to their individual needs. My goal is to create an environment that’s challenging, positive, and fun—where every player leaves more confident than when they arrived. I believe great coaching goes beyond the game. It’s about building discipline, confidence, leadership, and a mindset that carries over into every area of life.

About me

Lacrosse has shaped my life, and I’m passionate about helping it shape the lives of the next generation. Growing up in Baltimore, I learned firsthand how sports can build confidence, discipline, and open doors to new opportunities. That journey took me from being a Junior College All-American to winning two NCAA National Championships at Salisbury University and playing professionally.

For the past 13 years, I’ve dedicated my career to coaching and mentoring athletes at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. I’ve worked with players across Maryland, New York, Virginia, and Los Angeles, helping them develop not only their skills but also the confidence and mindset needed to succeed.

Every athlete learns differently, so I believe in creating personalized training sessions that meet players where they are while challenging them to reach the next level. Whether your goal is making the starting lineup, preparing for college recruiting, or simply building a stronger foundation, I’m committed to helping you grow on and off the field.

When I’m not coaching, I serve as the Director of Recruitment for Harlem Lacrosse, where I help connect talented educators and coaches to opportunities that expand access to the game. No matter the role, my mission remains the same: use lacrosse to positively impact lives.

I help athletes improve by focusing on the complete player—not just their stick skills. Every session is tailored to the athlete’s age, experience, position, and goals. We’ll work on fundamentals, shooting, dodging, footwork, defensive technique, lacrosse IQ, conditioning, and game-like decision-making to build confidence that translates into competition.

Whether you’re new to the sport, looking to earn more playing time, preparing for varsity, or pursuing college lacrosse, my goal is to help you develop the skills, mindset, and confidence to perform at your best. I believe consistent, intentional training creates lasting results, and I’m committed to helping every athlete reach their full potential both on and off the field.

Every training session is designed with a purpose and tailored to the athlete’s goals, position, and skill level.

We typically begin with a brief check-in while stretching to recap previous sessions, discuss progress, and identify areas of focus for the day. From there, we build a strong foundation by working on core fundamentals such as passing, catching, footwork, stick skills, and movement.

Once we’re warmed up, we transition into more detailed position-specific instruction. Depending on the athlete, this may include shooting mechanics, defensive technique, dodging, faceoffs, goalie work, or other specialized skills. As the session progresses, we incorporate game-like scenarios to help athletes apply those techniques in realistic situations and improve their decision-making under pressure.

We always finish with a competitive drill that challenges the athlete to perform at game speed, followed by a quick recap to highlight what they did well, identify areas for improvement, and establish a focus for the next session.

My goal is for every athlete to leave each session more skilled, more confident, and better prepared for competition.

The best coach I’ve ever had was Jim Berkman at Salisbury University. Playing for a Hall of Fame coach and being part of two NCAA National Championship teams was an incredible experience, but what made Coach Berkman special went far beyond winning.

He taught me the importance of preparation, consistency, discipline, and accountability. He challenged us to pursue excellence in every aspect of our lives—not just on the lacrosse field, but as teammates, leaders, and men. Those lessons have stayed with me throughout my playing career and continue to shape the way I coach today.

My goal is to pass those same values on to every athlete I work with, helping them grow not only as lacrosse players but as confident, disciplined young people.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
