Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I've both played and coached the game at a very high level. I played at the division 1 level and coached at the professional level. As a player, I've played in two National Championships. As a coach, I've worked with the best football players in the world.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
Chip Kelly. He had a great way of making everything he taught me make sense. If I'm doing something, I want to know why and how it helps me. Everything he ever taught me was backed up with evidence and logic. This goes beyond football. He has taught me more about life.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I won't yell. However, I will hold my athletes to a high standard. I won't waste their time and they won't waste mine. My athlete's success is good for business. I will make you better.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I played football at the University of Oregon. Immediately after, I was a coaching intern for the Philadelphia Eagles. I worked directly with the Runningbacks coach Duce Staley (now with Cleveland Browns) and Quarterbacks coach Ryan Day (now at Ohio State). After my time in Philadelphia, I moved down to Orlando and worked for the University of Central Florida. I worked directly with Troy Walters (now with Cincinnati Bengals) and Kevin Smith (now with Ole Miss University).
I've learned from some of the best coaches in the game and have become one myself.
How can you help someone improve their game?
Technique. I will teach you how to win. Go up to the line of scrimmage with a plan every play. One of my coaches always said "Pressure is what you feel when you don't know what you're doing." I will ensure that you always know what to do.
What does a typical training session look like?
Every session will start off with a warm up. Afterwards, hand eye coordination. Then footwork. Everything after that is specific to the athlete that I'm working with.
