I come alongside performers to help them train their brain.

Mental Performance is for anyone that’s looking to learn how to handle high pressure situations better, come back from injuries more confidently or simply get an edge on their opponent. I do this through mental skills training. These skills can be anything from how to develop solid self-talk, to improving focus, to creating a pre-competition routine.

Get to know Coach Kelsey

About Me:

I was born and raised in Denver, CO. I grew up doing club sports like gymnastics and dance to start. Then ended up having a career-ending injury in middle school which led me to try new sports like volleyball, tennis, swimming, and diving. I graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with my BA in Psychology. I went on to get my Masters in Sport and Performance Psychology at John F. Kennedy University in the San Francisco area. I have two girl cats (a Ragdoll and Siamese). I am a big-time lover of Jesus, Sweet Treats, and Helping others rediscover their why! I am currently in Springfield, Illinois but work in Colorado as well. Welcome :)

How I can help you improve your game:

I’m here to empower you to find the best skills to help you succeed as a performer AND human being.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

We will do an initial session for an hour and that will be us getting to know each other, your performance history and your goals for our work together. From there, we move to 6-8 sessions (more or less) that help to build on the goal(s) we’ve outlined in the first session. It will either be 1 hour again or 45 minutes. The further we get into our sessions, 30 minutes will be good for tight schedules and quick mental skills practice.

Career summary and accomplishments:

-I’ve worked with over 50+ performers from recreational level up to Olympic, ages 9 to 65 years.

-Sports I’ve worked with: Gymnastics, Swimming, Golf, Rowing, Soccer and Taekwondo.

-I am a previous club gymnast, swimmer, and diver.

-I am a CMPC (Certified Mental Performance Coach) which means I’ve trained, acquired internship time and experience required to take the certification exam. My coursework also reflects this. In short, I have done my research, education and training to be ethical and competent in my field :)

Best coach I ever had:

Gail! She taught me mental skills to overcome my mental blocks on beam in Gymnastics :)

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I tailor mental skills training plans to each performers personal needs. There is no one-size-fits all method. Also, with this work, patience is needed. There is no quick fix :)

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

  • Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.

  • Easy rescheduling — Cancel or reschedule up to 4 hours before a lesson, no questions asked.

  • Coach no-shows — You'll be fully credited and we'll help you find a replacement.

  • Flexible credits — Unused lessons last 12 months and can be used with any coach on the platform.
