Jordan Ryan started on varsity for all four years of high school, making playoffs in each of those seasons and winning league MVP in her senior year. After several college offers and barring an ACL tear in 2020, Jordan battled back and played three years of Division 3 basketball before stepping away to finish out her college education. She played on a few different AAU teams traveling across the country in high school playing against top talent. She has been entrenched in the game of basketball for 15 years and finds it to be the biggest teacher in her life, even today.
The recipe for success starts with figuring out the desired end result. What do you want to improve on? Then we take that goal and break into actionable steps that we can take every session. I like to test the skills we are trying to improve on and then retest after a package of sessions is over to give easily comparable results. Becoming a better shot or ball handler or scorer is a lot at once. There are so many things that you could do to get there. My job is to pick what I see as the best path for you to get there.
This depends greatly on the skill level and goals of the client. Warmups are always in there as well as some ball handling and shot work. "Mini-games" (drills with points involved) are some of my favorites. But what happens from there is up to what you want to get out of the session.
My best coach was Will Jones, my high school coach. The biggest thing that a coach can do for a player is believe in them and their ability. Jones had that belief in me and I soared to new levels because of it. Coaches are complicated and I understand how people might have a tough time with them, but I will say this: I believe you (yes, you) can get better and can reach your goals. People didn't always have that confidence in me, but that experience is not what you will get from me.
I want more than anything for you or your child to improve. Basketball, like anything, requires consistent and focused practice. It can be hard to know which direction to go in with so many options today. A lot of it is overly complicated and fancy for the sake of clicks on social media. My goal is to simplify that and give game-specific and usable skills that translate into games. My methods require commitment and a willingness to learn. There will be some fun in there as well (it's basketball, come on now) but the goal is to help you meet yours. You want to make the team? Let's figure out what we need to do to get there. Want to score 15 points a game? Where are the holes on offense that we can fill to make that happen.

Book and schedule your lessons through our platform.
Meet your coach in-person or virtually, and start chasing down your goals!
If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
