I’m a Phoenix-based coach, lead scout, and certified instructor with over a decade of coaching experience. I’ve helped lead a 2025 state championship program, developed hitters and pitchers on a team with a 2.40 ERA and .365BA over the past three seasons. My lessons combine strong fundamentals, advanced data and video insights, and a focus on the mental side of the game. I’m passionate about helping athletes not only improve their performance, but also build confidence, discipline, and a competitive mindset that translates beyond baseball.

I'm a Phoenix, Arizona native with a lifelong passion for baseball and player development. I played at the collegiate level before transitioning into coaching in 2013, and since then I've dedicated my career to helping athletes grow both on and off the field. As both a player and a coach, l've been part of championship-level programs, winning a state title as a player in 2012, a state championship as a coach in 2025, and finishing as a state runner-up in 2024.
I currently serve as the Pitching Coach at Phoenix Christian High School, where our staff has maintained a 2.40 cumulative ERA over the past three seasons.
While pitching is my specialty, I also work with hitters, focusing on swing efficiency, approach, and developing a confident, consistent offensive mindset.
In addition, I work as a Lead Scout for Prospect Select, evaluating collegiate and professional bound players, overseeing a team of scouts to ensure high-level, accurate assessments.
I hold my NFHS Level 2 Coaching Certification and Rapsodo Pitching Certification, allowing me to blend traditional coaching with modern, data-driven insights. My lessons focus on building strong fundamentals, improving mechanics, and helping players understand the "why" behind their development.
What truly sets my coaching apart is my emphasis on the mental side of the game. Confidence, approach, and resilience are just as important as physical ability, and I work to help athletes develop all aspects of their performance. I take pride in being a positive role model and creating an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and motivated to improve.
Whether you're new to the game or striving to compete at a higher level, my goal is to help you develop with purpose and confidence.
I help athletes improve by combining strong fundamentals, individualized coaching, and a focus on both the physical and mental sides of the game. For pitchers, I focus on mechanics, command, pitch development, and
understanding how to use their arsenal effectively. For hitters, I work on swing efficiency, approach, and building a consistent, confident mindset at the plate.
Every lesson is tailored to the athlete. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. I break down the "why" behind adjustments so players can make real, lasting improvements.
Whether it's increasing velocity, improving command, refining a swing, or building confidence in game situations, my goal is to help you develop with purpose and compete with confidence.
A typical session with me is structured, focused, and tailored to your specific goals. Approximately 1 hour long.
We start with a brief check-in and dynamic warm-up to get your body ready and establish a plan for the session. From there, we move into skill-specific work, whether that's pitching mechanics, command and pitch development, or hitting mechanics and approach.
During the session, I provide realtime feedback, make adjustments, and explain the "why" behind everything we're doing so you can apply it in games. Depending on your goals, we may incorporate drills, live reps, and situational work to simulate game environments.
We finish with a quick recap and actionable takeaways so you know exactly what to focus on between sessions. My goal is for every athlete to leave with clarity, confidence, and a plan for continued improvement.

The best coach I ever had was Steve Ontiveros, a former MLB All-Star and pitching coach for the Chinese Olympic team. He taught me the importance of attention to detail, competing with confidence, and understanding the mental side of the game. His ability to connect with players while holding them to a high standard is something l've carried into my own coaching
today.
Athletes and parents should know that I genuinely care about each player's development both on and off the field. I take pride in being a positive role model and creating a structured, supportive environment where athletes can grow with confidence.
I hold my players to a high standard, but I do so in a way that is encouraging and focused on long-term development. Communication is incredibly important to me. I make sure athletes understand what we're working on and why, and I'm always open to feedback and questions from both players and parents.
My goal is not just to improve performance, but to help build confident, disciplined, and well-rounded young athletes.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
