Mastering fundamentals to build team cohesion, confidence, and character.
I bring 25 years of professional executive leadership to the court and field, offering a unique, structured approach to athletic training. In softball, I specialize in building fundamentals for young players and navigating the recruitment path for D1-D3 college prospects. As a Varsity basketball coach, I’ve specialized in program turnarounds, leading my team to a 2025 Clark Tournament championship and record-setting seasons. I am dedicated to helping athletes in both sports master their craft, build unwavering confidence, and learn the life lessons that come from a commitment to team-building and constant improvement. I live in Uxbridge, but willing to travel locally for lessons.
My approach to coaching is simple: I believe that mastering the fundamentals is the only way to build the real, lasting confidence an athlete needs to succeed. I’ve spent years leading teams and programs, and I’ve seen firsthand that when a player understands the "why" behind a skill, their game completely transforms. We will get back to the basics, refining your mechanics and technical execution until they become second nature. This isn’t just about getting better at a sport; it’s about the pride that comes from working hard and seeing your own progress.
Beyond the physical skills, I’m here to help you develop your "Sport IQ" and your character as a teammate. We’ll work on reading the game and making smart decisions under pressure, but we’ll also focus on the life lessons that sports teach us—like resilience, discipline, and how to lift up the people around you. My goal is for every athlete I coach to walk away not just with a higher level of play, but with the confidence and leadership skills that will help them succeed long after they leave the court or the diamond.
What to Expect: A Personalized Path to Success
I do not believe in "cookie-cutter" coaching. Every athlete has a unique starting point, different goals, and specific areas that require refinement to reach the next level. Drawing on my professional background in technology operations, I treat every engagement as a specialized project designed around the individual player.
1. Initial Assessment & Goal Setting
Our first session begins with a comprehensive evaluation. We will identify your current strengths and, more importantly, pinpoint the specific technical or mental gaps that are holding you back from your peak performance.
2. Specialized Skills & IQ Training
Based on that assessment, I build a custom training plan.
In Softball: This might mean breaking down a mechanical flaw in a swing or developing the "Softball IQ" needed to anticipate plays before they happen.
In Basketball: We may focus on elite footwork, shooting consistency under pressure, or the court vision required for high-level travel and Varsity play.
3. Measurable Progress & Feedback
Every drill we run has a purpose. We focus on high-repetition, fundamental mastery tailored specifically to what you need most. I provide clear, professional feedback throughout the session so the athlete understands not just how to improve, but why these adjustments will lead to better results in game situations.
4. Building Confidence Through Competence
By focusing on the areas where improvement is most needed, we turn weaknesses into strengths. This targeted approach is the fastest way to build genuine on-field confidence and prepares athletes to compete at the D1, D2, or D3 collegiate level.
Professional Leadership & Approach
I bring over 25 years of experience as a senior technology executive to the athletic arena. This background allows me to lead with a high level of organization, clear communication, and a focus on "process over outcomes." I specialize in program turnarounds—taking existing teams and professionalizing their culture, dynamics, and performance standards to achieve record-breaking results.
Varsity Basketball Leadership
As a Head Girls Varsity Basketball coach, I have led a complete transformation of the program over the past four-plus years.
Championship Success: Led the team to the first Clark Tournament championship in school history in 2025.
Record-Breaking Performance: Tied the school record for most wins in a single season (2025) and have maintained a winning record every year of my tenure.
Program Evolution: Shifted the program dynamic to one of high IQ, discipline, and consistent improvement.
Versatile Experience: Broad background including boys’ travel, middle school, competitive AAU programs, and high school JV/Varsity assistant roles.
Softball Development & Mentorship
In softball, I have a proven track record of developing players across the entire age spectrum, focusing on both fundamental mastery and elite-level game strategy.
Elite Winning Record: Maintained a head coaching winning percentage of over .850, leading teams to numerous tournament championships across the Northeast.
Top-Tier Programs: Coached for two of the most prominent club softball programs in the East, working with elite-level talent.
Youth to Collegiate Transition: Spent years instilling core fundamentals and "Softball IQ" in players starting at 10U, and have spent the last four years mentoring 16U–18U athletes to help them reach their goals of playing for D1, D2, and D3 programs.
The best coaches I ever had weren’t necessarily the ones with the most wins, but the ones who pushed me to be better than I thought possible. They were the mentors who didn't just run drills; they took the time to explain the "why" behind every movement. They balanced a relentless focus on core fundamentals with a deep dive into situational IQ—teaching me how to think two steps ahead of the play, whether on the court or the diamond.
Those coaches saw my potential before I did and held me to a professional standard of accountability and discipline. They taught me that being a great athlete is about more than physical talent—it’s about your character, your resilience, and how you show up for your teammates. I strive to bring that same level of mentorship to every session, combining technical expertise with the situational intelligence that helps players truly master their game.
I have been married for over 25 years and am the proud father of three children who all grew up playing sports. My coaching journey began when my sons were in T-ball, and I spent years coaching them through baseball, basketball, and flag football. When my daughter reached the 10U level, I transitioned into softball. Throughout those years, I maintained a strict standard of fairness: my children were never given special treatment. If anything, I was tougher on them, ensuring they were treated like every other player when it came to earning playing time or their spot in the lineup. Notably, by the time I took over as the Head Coach of the Girls Varsity Basketball team, I was no longer coaching my own children, allowing me to focus entirely on the growth of the program and its athletes.
For me, the court and the field have always been a sanctuary—a place where the only thing that matters is the players and the enjoyment of the game. In my professional career as a technology executive, I have always prided myself on truly investing in people and helping them achieve their goals. I take that exact same approach to coaching. I have worked with many female athletes who struggled with their confidence during their seasons or careers, and I make it a priority to build them back up. Reinforcing that they belong and are talented is just as important to me as the physical training. I truly care about the players I have the privilege to lead, and I view every session as an opportunity to mentor them toward their personal best.
