About Me:

As an athletic director, Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA), and multi-sport coach, sports have always been more than just a game to me; they are a vehicle for building character and life skills. Over my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with athletes at all levels, helping them develop the physical tools, tactical skills, and mental toughness required to excel. My coaching approach is rooted in positive reinforcement, high accountability, and holistic development. I believe that by mastering fundamentals, building explosive speed, and training a growth mindset, any athlete can unlock a new level of confidence that benefits them both on the court and in their everyday lives.

My training is designed to turn potential into consistent, high-level performance by focusing on three essential pillars: on-court skill mastery, explosive strength and speed, and mental conditioning. We will work on building functional, game-ready basketball skills like sharp ball-handling, efficient footwork, and high-percentage shooting mechanics, while simultaneously developing your physical tools through tailored lateral quickness and vertical power training. Most importantly, we will focus heavily on the mental side of the game. I will coach you on how to handle in-game stress, maintain focus after making a mistake, and build unshakeable self-confidence so you can approach every possession with a resilient mindset. Whether you are trying to make the varsity squad or preparing for the collegiate level, I provide the personalized roadmap and high accountability you need to get there.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

For Mental Performance Conditioning, the session shifts from the physical court to a focused classroom or virtual setting to train the brain just like a muscle. We utilize mindset alignment exercises, visualization techniques, and goal-setting strategies to help athletes build emotional control and leave outside distractions behind. This dedicated track is designed to teach athletes how to process mistakes constructively, eliminate negative self-talk, and build the unshakeable self-confidence needed to dominate under pressure.

For Basketball Skill Development, the session is focused entirely on high-intensity, game-speed fundamentals. We begin with a dynamic warmup before diving into sharp ball-handling under pressure, precise footwork, and high-percentage shooting mechanics. Instead of running mindless drills, I emphasize situational basketball IQ, forcing athletes to make real-time reads and decisions. By simulating pressure scenarios, athletes learn how to execute their skills flawlessly when the game is on the line.

For Strength & Speed Training, the entire block is dedicated to maximizing raw athletic potential and injury prevention using sports-performance principles. We focus on developing the foundational physical tools necessary to compete at the next level, specifically targeting lateral quickness, explosive acceleration, change of direction, and vertical power. Athletes will learn proper mechanics and push through targeted conditioning so they can outlast and outplay the competition in the fourth quarter.

Career summary and accomplishments:

I am an athletic administrator, coach, and educator with experience leading athletic programs, coaching multiple sports, and developing student-athletes at the middle school and high school levels. I currently serve in athletic administration while also bringing extensive coaching experience in basketball, volleyball, football, track and field, and strength and conditioning. Throughout my career, I have focused on helping athletes improve their skills, confidence, leadership, and overall performance both on and off the playing surface. In addition to coaching, I have overseen athletic operations, budgets, scheduling, facilities, and coach development, earning my Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) designation through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. My accomplishments include founding new athletic programs, securing grant funding for athletic facilities and equipment, increasing coaching compensation, and creating opportunities that expand student participation in athletics. With a Master's degree in Exercise Science and Sports Management, I am passionate about using sports as a vehicle to teach life skills, build character, and help athletes reach their full potential.

The best coach I ever had was Coach Mike, and it had very little to do with X's and O's. What set Coach Mike apart was his intentional focus on building authentic relationships with his players; he cared about us as humans first and athletes second. Long before we stepped onto the floor or talked about strategy, he made sure he knew who we were, what we were dealing with outside of sports, and what motivated us. Because we knew he was genuinely invested in our well-being, we trusted him completely, which made us want to play harder for him and for each other. Experiencing his leadership firsthand completely shaped my own coaching philosophy. Today, I strive to replicate Coach Mike’s legacy by ensuring every athlete I train knows they are valued as a person first, creating a foundation of trust that allows them to push past their limits.

While we will work relentlessly on basketball skills, physical strength, and mental resilience, I care deeply about who my athletes are becoming off the court. I build my training environments on a foundation of trust, high accountability, and mutual respect, ensuring that every player feels valued as a human being from day one. When an athlete knows their coach truly cares about their well-being, they develop the confidence to take risks, push through failure, and unlock their full potential. If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
