Why Train With Me?

Over 40 years experience in all aspects of training/racingI take a very personalized approach to coaching runners. Focusing on improving weaknesses and utilizing strengths to become a better athlete physically and mentally. I coached myself in high school to become a top runner in the state, which led me to running collegiately at a top Track/Cross Country college, where I competed in NCAA Division I championships and ran with Olympians.

Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
College coach Fred Laplante was my best coach, because he took a personalized approach to coaching exploring my weaknesses and strengths and putting together training accordingly.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I am very familiar with many types of coaching techniques and also the newest technologies that can best assist in measuring fitness and progress. I also worked several years for Nike and can recommend the best shoes/apparel for each athlete to best achiever the proper training.

I have coached High School track/cross country focusing on mid-distance to long distance athletes for several years. In addition I have individually coached several athletes to achieve their goals.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I understand that helping an athlete improve takes more than just proper training. I focus on all aspects from psychological, nutrition, racing techniques, running gear, and of course a customized training program to focus on improving weaknesses and maintaining strengths.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session starts with an explanation of the purpose or the type of training, followed by warm-up, proper stretching, running the workout, cool-down
