My name is Jahan Vijeh and I welcome you to Jazara Tennis Academy. Tennis and fitness are my biggest passions. I have been playing for over a decade and still compete when I am able. I have been coaching and teaching for 9 years now. I love to incorporate elements of personal training into my sessions because I am a firm believer of not just making a great tennis player, but a great athlete in general. I currently am a Certified Tennis Instructor under PTR, and continuing my education.

I was born and raised in Tracy, CA, out in the central valley. At the time, it was a small, cow-town. As a kid, I grew up playing soccer and spending most of my time outdoors. I loved anything that was physical: bike riding, basketball, skating, wall ball, racing against my friends, and many others. I dreamt of being a professional soccer player, but this dream morphed into something else when I started playing tennis freshman year of high school. I fell in love with the sport. I still played soccer, but my focus shifted. When I graduated high school, I went to SJSU for two years. Because SJSU didn't have a tennis team, I left and went to Diablo Valley College, where I was able to play on the tennis team. That was also the same year that I coached the varsity tennis team. After this, my life got a bit crazy so I'll spare you the details. I took a small break from tennis but came back stronger than ever. Fast forward to the present, I am still focused on improving myself in every way and hope that I can help people become better athletes along the way!
I put a huge emphasis on footwork and athleticism when I teach and coach tennis. In order to be the best you can be, you must be the best athletically. My goal is to drastically improve my clients' athleticism by incorporating endurance training, agility work, foot work, speed, explosiveness, and dynamic stretching. All of these will greatly improve your tennis game.
I begin by asking previous tennis and athletic experience. For beginning players, we will go over the basics and start from there. For those with more experience, I will hand feed a basket of balls to see how the player hits and moves towards the ball to get an understanding of their level. From there, I ask the player what their goal is, whether they just want to play recreationally or eventually play leagues and tournaments. I encourage all my clients to analyze their own game and communicate with me what they would like to work on. If you're unsure, no worries! I will plan out the session accordingly.
Tennis is one of my biggest passions. I have been playing for over a decade and am closing on a decade of teaching and coaching experience. I have held Tennis Professional positions at clubs and had the privilege of being the Head Varsity Tennis Coach at a high school in Walnut Creek. While I loved my previous position, I felt like I had little personal time. Recently, I am determined to be self employed and be my own boss. I played two years at Diablo Valley College, my first year being 2017 and second being 2023. I still play competitively; I play USTA leagues, tournaments, and UTR events. My level is around 5.0 and am always looking to improve. I hold PTR certification as a Certified Tennis Instructor but am looking on furthering my credentials with higher certifications.
Probably my high school coach. While she wasn't technically a tennis coach (she was the volleyball coach and volunteered to coach us so we could have a team), she was very impactful to me as a player on the mental side of the game.
My style of teaching can be fast paced for some. While tennis is the main focus, my goal is to make my client a better athlete as well. I train my athletes hard and really push them to be better. Bring lots of water!

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.
Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
