About Me:

As a former football standout at Carson–Newman University and former professional arena football player with the Carolina Cobras, Macon Knights, and Lakeland Thunderbolts, I bring real playing experience, leadership, and passion to every training session. My background competing at both the collegiate and professional levels allows me to teach athletes the fundamentals, discipline, and mental toughness needed to succeed on and off the field.

In addition to my football experience, I am also a certified personal trainer and certified nutrition coach through International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), which allows me to help athletes improve not only their performance and position-specific skills, but also their strength, conditioning, recovery, and overall health.

My goal is to help every athlete grow into a more confident, disciplined, and focused competitor while developing the work ethic, character, and winning mindset that carries far beyond the game. Whether training defensive line techniques, improving athletic performance, or mentoring young athletes through their development journey, I’m committed to helping each athlete reach their full potential.

How I can help you improve your game:

I help athletes improve their performance by focusing on proper technique, footwork, strength, conditioning, and defensive fundamentals that build speed, confidence, and discipline. Through personalized training, game awareness, and mental preparation, I teach players how to react faster, play with confidence, and stay focused under pressure. My goal is to help every athlete develop the skills, mindset, and work ethic needed to succeed both on and off the field.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Each training session is focused, high energy 60 minute workout designed to build strength, technique, and football IQ. We start with dynamic warm up and agility drills to increase speed and mobility, followed by position specific defensive line work such as stance, and placement, footwork, and leverage techniques. Players then move into control one on one drills were they learn to read offensive schemes, shed blocks, and maintain Gap integrity. Every session ends with conditioning and a brief skills recap to reinforce proper habits and mental discipline. My goal is for every athlete to leave training stronger, smarter, and more confident in their game.

Career summary and accomplishments:

As a proud graduate of Burns High School in Lawndale North Carolina where I played in the 1998 Shrine Bowl as one of the top 50 players in the state, and Carson-Newman University, I built my foundation on hard work, dedication, and a true love for the game. After a standout College career, I advanced to the professional level, competing in the Arena Football League with the Carolina Cobras and Macon Knights, and later in the National Indoor Football League with the Lakeland Thunderbolts. Throughout my playing career, I've had the opportunity to travel and compete at a high level, learning from elite coaches and athletes across the country. These experiences have shaped both my game and coaching approach giving me the tools to train, motivate, and inspire the next generation of athletes to reach their full potential.

Best coach I ever had:

The best coaches I ever had were my high school coach, Ron Green, and my college coach, Ken Sparks. Both men were incredible leaders who taught me the true meaning of discipline, hard work, and accountability, but they did it in a way that also showed compassion and care for their players. They pushed me to grow not only as an athlete but as a man, and their example continues to shape how I coach and mentor young athletes today.

Athletes and parents should know that I'm fully committed to helping each child improve both as a player and as a person. I believe in teaching through encouragement, structure, and accountability, the same values that shaped my own career. Safety, discipline, and confidence are at the core of every session I lead. My goal is to create a positive and focused environment where athletes learn proper fundamentals, develop a strong work ethic, and build the mindset to succeed on and off the field.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
