Athletic Background
Summary of Career and Accomplishments
I am native of Upland California. I have played baseball since I was nine years old, and I've been in love with it ever since. My baseball career reached professional status. I played two years with Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Organization where I completed two seasons before I got released. I eventually landed with another professional baseball team called the Evansville Otters, which played a full season. I have gained a lot of knowledge during my playing career, and I furthered my knowledge of game, especially the mental side of being a professional athlete.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best that I played for was a coach by the name of John Altobelli at Orange Coast College. He was a legendary coach of the game who won the award for best College baseball coach in the country. In 2014 we won State Championship for Junior Colleges under his leadership. He was a father figure and someone I looked up to a person and a player. He passed away in 2020 from an accident that involved Kobe Bryant, to whom he was very close to. I miss him and his family to this day and devote my success in this game to him.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
What parents and athletes should know about me is that I understand the mental grind it takes to succeed in this game at a high level. I want them to understand that the key to success in any endeavor is self-discipline. With that, there is no mountain to tall, or road to dangerous that can stop you for achieving your goal. If you do what is needed, and you have prepared to your best ability, your goals will be reached. Preparation plus luck equals opportunity.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I was a Head Coach for a travel team called the PFA Hawks. I coached for the entire summer of 2022 until the winter time. My team was the 9-10 year old team. I am currently a pitching instructor for kids, amateur, and professional baseball players. I also am a Personal trainer at 24 hour fitness which gives me skills in teaching exercise training specific to the persons goals.
How can you help someone improve their game?
My strength is being able to get a pitcher to understand how to use their body efficiently on the mound. I will teach them how to develop a consistent release point which will improve their ability to throw strikes and place the ball where they want it to go. I will teach them how to incorporate their lower half which help gain velocity and prevent arm injury. I will teach them proper arm care and body maintenance after throwing. I will teach them how to tunnel and pitch sequence to win the game of chest against the batter. I will teach them power of the mind in what I like to call "Bulldog Approach" which will give them confidence and strong mound presence. I will teach them how to grip and throw certain pitches that minimize arm injuries and create more spin on the ball. All of these techniques will improve their game and turn them into elite pitchers of the game.
What does a typical training session look like?
A typical training session will include A warm up session to get the body nice and warmed up so they ready to go. I will go over the session and what we will be training on for that day. I will take through a throwing program that builds slowly and effectively with a purpose behind every Throw. from the throwing session we will then proceed with a lesson, followed by bullpen with me as the catcher. I will end the session with suggestions and homework for them to practice when I am not with them. Each session will draw from the last. Each player will be coached differently based on their goals.
