Why Train With Me?

Improve your skills and build your confidence!I have been training and coaching young hoopers for the past 5 years. After earning a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology at Florida State University, I built an AAU program that I currently own and direct. My goal is to teach young players the physical and mental side of the game. I am a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) and am passionate about sharing my expertise with young, motivated athletes. If none of the times I have listed below work for you, reach out to me and we can find another time!

Athletic Background

Summary of Career and Accomplishments
Jack played 4 years of high school basketball in Washington state as a point guard. After high school he attended Florida State University where he was a member of the practice squad for the women's team.
Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
The best coach I have ever played for was my 7th grade AAU coach. He challenged us everyday, both as a team and as individuals. But most importantly, he instilled in us an unshakeable confidence and a love for the game!
What should athletes and parents know about you?
Parents and players should know that I am an organized, committed trainer who expects players to show up on time and give 100% effort. I prioritize the mental side of the game just as much as the physical and strive to instill confidence in the players I train.

Coaching Background

Summary of Coaching Background
I have conducted personal and small group skills trainings for around 5 years, working with both boys and girls aged 10-18. I have coached at the AAU level, both boys and girls ages 10-18 as well.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I help athletes clarify their goals and together we collaborate on a plan to achieve them. I balance a supportive and encouraging environment with a challenging and high intensity work outs. Sessions vary depending on player goals, but typically consist of game relevant, competition oriented drills and games.
What does a typical training session look like?
Its difficult to describe a typical session, as I tailor each session to the athlete's skill level and goals. I usually begin by getting to know the athlete and understanding their current role on the team and their desired role. We discuss some options and goals for our work. Generally speaking, we spend significant time putting up shots at game speed from game relevant locations and learning how to score at all 3 levels.
