Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
Coach Mark Pope of Kentucky University Basketball is the best mentor and coach I've had in my career. Through him, we were able to turn around a failing basketball program and make it a consistent mid-college contender. He taught me the skills and basketball acumen on what it takes to be successful as a team and player. He focused on me and helped me grow my game immensely.
What should athletes and parents know about you?
I am easy going and will always ensure the safety of your child. I take an invested interest in the growth of your loved one and will ensure that they receive the proper feedback to grow themselves and their game.
Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I have coached several church leagues for kids (12-16yrs old) in which I have won several championships. I was also an assistant coach for an AAU team for a season.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I know the mechanics of the game through and through. I can recognize when a fundamental is not being practiced and can provide the necessary correction to make improvements. With my college experience, I demand respect from kids and they listen to what I have to say. I share my insights with parents so they too can push on their child outside of initial training sessions.
What does a typical training session look like?
Each session is an hour long and we will focus on the goals that are set through an initial evaluation. We will start with a brief but comprehensive warm-up and then flow into the mechanics of shooting, passing, body positioning, rebounding, and defensive.
