Get to know Coach Andrew

About Me:

4 year starter collegiately. 2 time Pacific Coast Conference (PCAC) 1st team all conference player. 1000 point scorer throughout college career.

How I can help you improve your game:

Providing in game-like scenarios, and detailed feedback, I work to refine techniques such as shooting mechanics, ball-handling, footwork, and defensive positioning. I also enhance basketball IQ by teaching decision-making skills, court awareness, and game strategy. Beyond physical improvement, l instill confidence, discipline, and mental toughness to ensure they excel both on and off the court. My goal is to provide the tools and guidance needed to unlock their full potential.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

For new clients, a typical training session starts with an assessment of their current skill level, strengths, and areas for improvement. We begin with a dynamic warm-up to prevent injury and enhance mobility, followed by foundational drills such as shooting form, ball-handling, and footwork. This allows me to evaluate their mechanics and tailor future sessions to their needs. I also introduce game-like situations to simulate real challenges on the court and end the session with a brief discussion to set goals moving forward.

For known clients, a session is more structured and focused on building on previous progress. After a warm-up, we dive into advanced skill work or any specific areas they're looking to improve, whether it's shooting consistency, attacking the basket, or defensive techniques. I add conditioning elements and situational drills tailored to game performance. Each session ends with a recap of accomplishments, feedback, and a roadmap for continued improvement. Every training is high-energy, intentional, and designed to push the athlete to their full potential!

Again every session will most likely be differ from client to client with different players having different skill levels.

Career summary and accomplishments:

No coaching background as of yet. Just trained kids here and there for the past couple years.

Best coach I ever had:

My sophomore year Juco coach Ivan Patterson he would always push me to do more as a player and leader. He would always tell me “ What you have right now Drew isn’t enough I want more you’re the head of the snake so act like it”. Even if I had 20 and 10 that game or did everything right he would always want more for me. Basically a master when it came to motivation and gave me the push I needed at the time.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I'm deeply passionate about player development both on and off the court. I believe in creating an environment that not only builds physical skills but also fosters confidence, discipline, and a strong work ethic. My goal is to help athletes reach their full potential while teaching life values like perseverance and teamwork. I'm committed to treating every athlete as an individual, tailoring my training to their unique strengths and goals, and always prioritizing their growth and well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
