I'm passionate about sports, particularly basketball and golf. As an athlete, the coach-trainer relationship was crucial for me, driving me to hone my skills. Now, as a trainer, I prioritize connecting with athletes on a personal level to help them excel. My goal is to build their confidence, starting with drills they can quickly master and progressing to more creative, competition-specific training.

How I can help you improve your game:

I help athletes enhance their game by fostering confidence. I begin by identifying their existing strengths, emphasizing their athletic abilities and potential for growth. Furthermore, I encourage creative expression by discussing their personal goals and perspectives on the game. Based on these insights, I design drills to ensure their success during competition.

What a typical training session looks like with me:

Workout routines always begin with a warm-up. Typically, this involves static stretches. In basketball, a five-minute form shooting session helps athletes find their rhythm and assess their initial feel.

Basketball workouts are tailored to the athlete's position and areas of focus. As a lifelong guard, I prioritize dribbling drills in the first half. The latter half shifts to catch-and-shoot and pick-and-roll scenarios. The final ten minutes emphasize situational play in a competitive setting, followed by limited one-on-one drills. Each basketball session concludes with making two consecutive free throws to simulate late-game pressure. Successful teams excel at securing the ball and converting free throws in the fourth quarter.

In golf, the progression starts with shorter irons, moves to the driver, and cools down with wedges. The workout ends with putting practice or a target game. I observe athletes hitting six balls before providing feedback, allowing them time to warm up and for me to assess their swing.

Career summary and accomplishments:

After playing college sports I found out very quickly that I had this passion to coach those sports that I played and that I wanted to inspire young athletes to get better and have the most fun in that sport. Immediately after college I went back home and I was named the Head JV boys Basketball Coach at Howell High School in Michigan, where in those two years we went 24-11. After those two years I was named the Assistant Men's and Women's Golf Coach at Albion College, a small D3 school in Michigan. As the assistant coach I gained so much experience from all aspects of college athletics. I would return back to my hometown area and found a coaching job at a sports complex where I was one of the lead trainers and I was the golf director there. I gain so many tools working there the past year that will help me going forward. As the golf director I ran 4, 8 week sessions throughout my time along with providing individual lessons on the weekends.

Best coach I ever had:

Best Coach: Nick Simon (My High School Head Basketball Coach), because he instilled in me what my role would be for our team to be successful. Which is, you don't need to be the most vocal leader, don't have to always start, and you don't have to have the most points. He embraced my best style which was leading by example, by working really hard during practices and games, and being someone he can rely on close games in the 4th quarter. He was also one of the first person to acknowledge what a great coach I could be.

What athletes and parents should know about me:

I love all things sports. Playing sports was my favorite thing to do when I was younger. I tried to play as many sports as I could, mostly because I tried to follow in the footsteps of my athletic older sister who played almost anything, but I played baseball, basketball, football, and golf. The most important aspect that I focus on is building athletes confidence by continuing to praise what athletes do really well. From there I like to build up specific skills that can translate into a game fashion. I know when I felt off and didn't play well in a specific game I would text my trainers and get workout in to tune everything up before the next weeks competitions, and thats who I want to be, someone that athletes can rely on.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

The AU guarantee (refund policy) has you covered! If you determine the coach isn't a good fit after your first lesson, let us know within 24 hours and you're eligible for a refund. We will also be happy to recommend another coach - be sure to contact our support team.

Our coaches are open to helping athletes of any age and skill level. Please message your desired coach to ensure their skillset fits your needs.
