Who is the best coach you ever had and why?
Brian Erickson and Bryan Ewing - These two men both military and fathers of sons I played with, are the best coaches. They both did things with direction and confidence and gave me the boosts when I was in my head or when I needed a lashing. They both encouraged and pointed out my flaws to continually make me a better player. They also focused on the team aspect and where I think some coaches focus on the individual they focused on the whole.

Coaching Background
Summary of Coaching Background
I was invited to attend a summer camp as a goalie coach for a travel ball team in Louisiana it was a three day event and I was able to work with all ages from U8 to U18.
How can you help someone improve their game?
I am meticulous when it comes to game sense. As Goalie you are the eyes and voice to direct the ship. That then becomes more and more important as you progress in your soccer game. I like to think of soccer as a living breathing game of chess. Many pieces moving at one time and getting players in the mind set of thinking a head, moving to the ball, and recovering when needed. I am a helper by nature. I love to help and find out what people need so they can start improving. Part of developing as a player is recognition and correction. Creating good habits can be replicated.
What does a typical training session look like?
For first time players a basic introduction and goal setting. We will talk about position specific areas and what they want to achieve. I also want to do a base line conditioning test and over time want to compare after some time working with me. Great warm up and stretch. Can not stress that enough. Basic skills drills and then work. Work is focused areas that will improve the player. It can also be where players think they are lacking either more drills or technique work might occur.
