Build an unshakable mindset to bring your best when the moment demands it.
You’ve put in the work. Now build the mindset to match. I’ll help you strengthen your confidence, lock in your focus, bounce back from mistakes, and trust your game...so you can perform at your best when the moment demands it and take your game to the next level.
You already train your body and develop your athletic skills. I’ll help you train the part of your game that determines how consistently you can use them...your mind.
We’ll start by looking at how you currently prepare, compete, respond to pressure, and recover from mistakes. From there, we’ll build a personalized mental game plan around your sport, your goals, and the athlete you want to become.
Our work can help you:
* Build confidence you can rely on
* Improve your focus and manage distractions
* Stay composed when the pressure increases
* Reset quickly after a mistake or bad performance
* Replace negative self-talk with a stronger internal voice
* Use visualization and mental rehearsal effectively
* Develop pre-game and in-game performance routines
* Create habits that support consistent improvement
* Trust your preparation and compete without holding back
This won’t be a series of motivational speeches. Each session will give you practical mental tools, clear action steps, and something specific to apply in practice, competition, or everyday life.
The goal isn’t to eliminate nerves, pressure, or mistakes. Those are part of competing. The goal is to make sure they don’t control your performance. Together, we’ll develop the mindset and mental skills you need to respond with confidence, stay in the moment, and bring your best when the moment demands it.
Every coaching session starts with you...not a script or a cookie-cutter program. We’ll talk about what’s happening in your practices, competitions, school, and life. We’ll identify what’s working, where you feel challenged, and what you want to improve.
From there, we’ll focus on one specific area that can make the biggest difference in your performance. I’ll ask questions, challenge your thinking, and help you recognize patterns you may not see on your own.
Depending on what you need, a coaching session might include:
* Building a stronger pre-game routine
* Practicing visualization or mental rehearsal
* Improving your focus and self-talk
* Developing a quick reset after mistakes
* Preparing for an important competition
* Working through nerves, frustration, or setbacks
* Creating goals and habits that support your growth
You won’t just talk about mental skills...we’ll practice them and connect them directly to situations you face in your sport.
You’ll finish each coaching session with a clear takeaway and something specific to apply before we meet again. During your next session, we’ll review what happened, make adjustments, and continue building from there.
The atmosphere is relaxed, honest, and judgment-free. You can be yourself, talk openly, and know that our conversations are focused on helping you grow as both an athlete and a person.
I have spent more than 20 years coaching mental strength, performance, resilience, and personal development. During that time, I’ve accumulated over 12,500 coaching hours working with high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, executives, entrepreneurs, and other high performers.
My athletic coaching experience includes working with professional baseball players, professional golfers, and NCAA Division I football players. As the former Director of Mental Performance, I provided individual and group coaching focused on confidence, focus, emotional control, mental preparation, and competitive performance.
My understanding of mental strength also comes from testing it personally. In June 1998, I survived a horrific avalanche while descending from the summit of Mount Rainier—an experience that completely changed my understanding of resilience and the connection between the mind and body.
My personal athletic accomplishments also include:
* Competing in CrossFit
* Achieving a 405-pound deadlift personal record
* Climbing several mountains over 14,000 feet
* Training extensively in martial arts, strength, and mountain endurance
* Continuing to train and challenge myself physically and mentally
These experiences shape how I coach. I understand preparation, pressure, setbacks, fear, fatigue, and the discipline required to keep improving. I don’t teach athletes theories I’ve only read about—I help them apply principles I’ve practiced throughout my own life.
The best coach I’ve ever had wasn’t one person. It was a combination of mentors, teachers, philosophy, and life itself.
Jeffrey Combs taught me the importance of personal responsibility and confronting the patterns that keep us stuck. Tony Robbins showed me how our physical and emotional state influences performance. Brendon Burchard helped shape my understanding of intentional, sustainable high performance.
The Stoics taught me to focus my energy on what I can control—my preparation, attitude, effort, and response. Joe Dispenza expanded my understanding of the connection between thoughts, identity, emotions, and the body.
But life has been my greatest coach. Success, failure, competition, physical challenges, personal setbacks, and surviving an avalanche have tested everything I’ve learned. Life doesn’t care how much you know; eventually, it gives you an opportunity to prove what you can apply.
I’ve taken lessons from all these sources and developed an approach that is practical, direct, and grounded in real experience. The best coaching doesn’t tell you who to become. It helps you recognize what you’re capable of and gives you the tools to bring that person forward.
The first thing athletes and parents should know is that I genuinely care. I care about performance, but I care even more about the person behind the performance. An athlete is more than a stat line, a starting position, or the result of the last competition.
I’m direct and honest. I won’t tell an athlete what they want to hear just to make them feel good, but I also won’t tear them down to make a point. My approach combines high standards, accountability, encouragement, and respect. I’ll challenge you because I believe in what you’re capable of...not because I expect perfection.
Athletes can expect a judgment-free place to speak openly about confidence, pressure, mistakes, expectations, motivation, or anything else affecting their performance. You don’t have to impress me, protect your image, or pretend everything is fine. The more honest you can be, the more valuable our work becomes.
Parents should know that I respect their role while also giving the athlete room to develop independence, personal responsibility, and trust in themselves. I’ll communicate appropriately about goals and overall progress while respecting the coaching relationship and the athlete’s need for a safe place to talk.
I won’t promise scholarships, starting positions, championships, or overnight transformation. Mental performance coaching requires effort, practice, and ownership from the athlete. What I will promise is that I’ll show up prepared, listen carefully, tell the truth, and bring more than 20 years of coaching experience to helping each athlete grow.
My goal is not to create dependence on a coach. It’s to help athletes develop the awareness, confidence, and mental tools to coach themselves when they’re standing on the field, court, course, track, or competition floor.

After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
