Being a former college athlete has opened my eyes to the love and hate of the sport you do. Sometimes people can't get out of the hate part of their sport. I am here to help athletes find the love for their sport and become the best athletic version they can achieve.

Try Coach Gillian risk free. If you don't love your first lesson, we'll switch you to another coach or give you a full refund.
My name is Gillian (or gilly). I am a former college student athlete at Utica University. My passion for being active runs my daily routine. Whether that is going for a walk or hike with friends, or trying something new like MMA (I can say I have taken classes with MMA trainers). Trying something can always be a little intimidating for me, but I have to remind myself that you can't knock till you try it.
All an athlete wants to do is improve their talents, skills, strategies, and athleticism. My goal for each athlete is to focus on what they think needs improvement. This also includes internal motivation, as this can be a big factor for an athlete to either stop their sport or have a rapid decline. All I want for my athletes is to figure out what drives them to improvement and create a safe space where they can communicate any changes or difficulties.
A typical training session would include a weight-lifting day, recovery days, and, of course, your practice days. For the weight-lifting day, it'll be specific to whether you are in the off-season, pre-season, or in-season. The recovery days will be specific to what the week is planned out for (weight lifting and practice). For the off-season, if your coach doesn't offer workouts to keep you tuned up for the season, we can work together to come up with a skills practice. For any other additional triaing, this can include just talking about any issue you might be having (I am not a licensed therapist, but I am happy to work with you to either find one or help). For my wrestlers out there, I understand weight cutting can be challenging, and we could come up with a specific way to help you maintain, cut, or build on top of what you already have.
Some experience I have is maintaining and communicating with the baseball staff. I currently work at Cantine Memorial Field as a field crew member to help prepare the field for game play or practice. Other experience I have is helping out with youth programs for lacrosse, facilitating wrestling clinics, and organizing collegiate team lifts.
The best coach I had was my former college coach, Connor Lapresi. He pushed the whole team to do their best and provided us with the knowledge and experience he had. I got help with nutrition tips and weightlifting tips on how to train throughout the different phases of the sport.
Athletes and parents should know that am 110% commited you see success in you! I want each athlete and parent to be proud of their accomplishments in their sport. I want to work with the parents and athletes to get feedback and see what needs improvement and what is working.

Book and schedule your lessons through our platform.
Meet your coach in-person or virtually, and start chasing down your goals!
If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.

Coach no-shows — You'll be fully credited and we'll help you find a replacement.
Flexible credits — Unused lessons last 12 months and can be used with any coach on the platform.
