I’m a former NCAA All-American who now coaches travel ball with CBU Tampa and at Pinellas Park High School. My coaching style is built around positive energy, strong mechanical development, and repetition to create consistency. I focus on helping players translate what they do in training directly into game performance, while pushing them to grow both on and off the field. My goal is simple—help every player become a more confident, consistent, and complete version of themselves.

Emilio Abreu is a New Jersey native who developed his game both domestically and internationally, including training in the Dominican Republic under former MLB players and Hall of Famer Pedro Martínez. A standout infielder, he was ranked the #6 shortstop in the state of New Jersey during his high school career. Emilio went on to play at Winston-Salem State University, where he earned All-American honors, solidifying his reputation as a high-level competitor and student of the game.
With experience as a former Division II All-American and training in the Dominican Republic under elite players, I bring a high-level understanding of the game to player development. I focus on building strong fundamentals through detailed mechanical work and consistent repetition, helping players translate practice into real game performance. My coaching emphasizes confidence, discipline, and accountability, pushing athletes to become more consistent, more prepared, and the best version of themselves on and off the field.
A training session with me is structured, high-energy, and focused on building game-ready skills through repetition and attention to detail. We start with a dynamic warm-up and movement prep, then break into position-specific work—hitters focus on swing mechanics, timing, and approach through drills and live reps, while infielders, outfielders, and catchers work on footwork, glove work, and situational fundamentals. Pitchers focus on mechanics, command, and pitch execution. Every session is designed to translate directly into game performance, combining fundamentals, repetition, and competitive reps to help players build confidence, consistency, and overall development.
As a high school standout in New Jersey, he was ranked the #6 shortstop in the state and #217 nationally, and earned an invitation to the prestigious 2013 Under Armor Preseason All-American Tournament. He continued his success at the collegiate level with Winston-Salem State University, where he earned multiple national and regional honors, including NCAA Division II Atlantic All-Region First Team and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region recognition. Abreu was also named the 2017 CIAA Baseball Tournament MVP and earned NCCSIA All-State (College Division) honors, solidifying his reputation as a high-level competitor and impact player.
It's tough to only name one coach that has the most impact on my baseball career but I can name two. I will start with coach Jimmy, he was the coach who gave me the confidence to believe in myself and gave me the opportunity to play even when I didn't believe in myself. Next will be Coach Diomedes, he showed me the power of hard work. Showing me how to develop my skills to compete at a high level.
Parents and athletes should know that I bring a combination of high-level playing experience and a genuine passion for player development. As a former Division II All-American, I understand what it takes to succeed at the next level, and I’m committed to helping each athlete reach their full potential. My coaching style is positive, detail-oriented, and focused on building strong fundamentals through repetition and consistency. I prioritize not only skill development, but also confidence, discipline, and a strong work ethic—creating an environment where players can grow both on and off the field.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
