NFL Coaching Experience | Player Development | Football IQ
I’m an experienced football coach with coaching experience on the staffs of the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, along with football operations and scouting experience across seven NFL organizations. I’ve had the opportunity to work with elite players including Travis Kelce and George Kittle, and my coaching focuses on developing technique, football IQ, confidence, and a deeper understanding of the game.
I help athletes improve their game by combining hands-on coaching with the same film study, preparation, technique and football IQ principles used at the highest pro level.
Depending on the athlete's position and goals, training can focus on fundamentals, position-specific technique, footwork, route running, quarterback mechanics, defensive technique, special teams, football IQ, reading coverages and fronts, decision-making and understanding how to play faster and more confidently.
I also believe that great players understand "why" they are doing something, not just "how" to do it. I use film, teaching, drills and repetition to help athletes understand the game from a deeper perspective and identify specific areas they can improve.
Most importantly, I tailor training to the individual athlete. Whether you're a beginner learning the fundamentals, a high school athlete competing for playing time or an advanced player preparing for the next level, we'll build a plan around your goals and areas for growth.
Every session is different because I tailor the training to the athlete, but I generally structure sessions around four components: assessment, instruction, repetition, and feedback.
We begin by identifying the athlete's goals and the specific areas we want to improve. From there, I'll teach or reinforce the technique we're working on, demonstrate the movement or concept and then put the athlete through position-specific drills and realistic game situations.
Throughout the session, I'll provide continuous feedback and corrections rather than simply having an athlete repeat a drill. I want athletes to understand what they're doing, why they're doing it and also how it translates to the actual game.
When appropriate, I also incorporate film study and football IQ into training. We can review game or practice film, identify opportunities for improvement and connect what we see on film to what we're working on on the field.
My goal is for every athlete to leave a session with measurable improvement, greater confidence, and specific things they can continue working on between sessions.
I have spent my career working across coaching, scouting, player development and football operations at the professional, collegiate, high school and youth levels.
My professional football experience includes seven NFL organizations and coaching roles with the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. With the Chiefs, I worked with the offensive and special teams staffs, contributing to player development, film breakdown, practice preparation, football research and tight end development. I was fortunate to work alongside future Hall-of-Famer, Travis Kelce and other elite NFL players.
With the San Francisco 49ers in 2023, I worked with the offensive and special teams staffs, with an emphasis on offensive preparation, tight end evaluation, film breakdown, scouting, analytics, practice organization, and on-field coaching. That season, San Francisco finished with the NFL's #2-ranked total offense and advanced to the Super Bowl. I also had the opportunity to work with George Kittle and the 49ers' offensive staff.
Beyond the Chiefs and 49ers, my football experience includes work with the Cleveland Browns, Washington Commanders, NFL, XFL, Reese's Senior Bowl and The 33rd Team. I have also coached quarterbacks, defensive line, linebackers and special teams and have worked in recruiting, player evaluation, film analysis and football strategy.
My goal throughout my career has remained consistent: learn from the best people in football and use that knowledge to help develop the next generation of athletes.
I've been fortunate to learn from two of the best coaches in football: Kyle Shanahan and Andy Reid. They are both future Hall of Famers, but what stood out to me most was how differently they approached coaching, leadership and player development.
Coach Shanahan is incredibly detailed and intentional about development. One of the biggest lessons I took from him was the importance of giving players opportunities to get meaningful repetitions in different situations. By seeing players perform in different circumstances, coaches can evaluate them more effectively, provide better feedback and ultimately help them develop to be their very best. His attention to detail reinforced for me that great coaching is often about preparation, repetition and constantly finding ways to make players better.
Coach Reid taught me a very different, but equally valuable lesson: great coaches don't always need to have all the answers themselves. He empowers his players to take ownership of the team. Seeing the relationships and trust he built with players like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce showed me the power of creating a self-led team where elite players have the freedom and responsibility to contribute to the direction of the group.
Working under both coaches shaped the way I think about coaching. Shanahan taught me the importance of structure, detail and intentional player development, while Reid taught me the importance of trust, empowerment and leadership through your players. Together, those experiences reinforced my belief that the best coaches know when to teach, when to challenge and when to step back and let their athletes lead.
I want athletes and parents to know that I take the responsibility of coaching seriously. My goal is to help athletes become better football players and better prepared competitors.
I've been fortunate to learn from coaches, executives, scouts and players at the highest levels of football, including my experiences with the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. I bring those lessons into my training while recognizing that every athlete is different and requires a different approach.
I believe development starts with relationships. I take the time to understand an athlete's goals, personality, strengths and areas for improvement. I'm demanding when it comes to effort, preparation and attention to detail, but I also want training to be positive, challenging and enjoyable.
For parents, I want you to feel confident that your athlete is receiving thoughtful, individualized instruction, not simply being put through a generic workout. For athletes, I want you to know that I'll challenge you, teach you, listen to you and genuinely invest in helping you reach your goals. I want to help you reach your "Super Bowl".
Whether you're trying football for the first time or working toward playing at the next level, you can expect me to bring energy, preparation, honesty and a professional approach to every session.
