Helping athlete's reach their full potential through individualized coaching.
With 13 years of collegiate coaching experience across every event in track & field, I specialize in individualized athlete development, proper technique, and long-term progress. My goal is to understand what makes each athlete successful and give them the tools, confidence, and training foundation to reach their full potential.
One of my greatest strengths as a coach is understanding that every athlete is different. Over the years, I have become very good at identifying an athlete's individual strengths, weaknesses, movement patterns, and learning style, then determining which drills, techniques, and training progressions will get the most out of them.
There is rarely one perfect way to coach every athlete. Even technique can look slightly different based on an athlete's strengths and physical characteristics. My job is to understand how you move, how you learn, and what you respond to so we can build the best approach for you.
I also have personal competitive experience across nearly every area of the sport, including distance running, hurdles, jumps, throws, and combined events. That gives me an understanding of what athletes experience both physically and mentally when learning an event, correcting technique, overcoming frustration, and trying to break through performance barriers.
A typical session begins with approximately 10 minutes of event-specific warm-up and movement preparation. From there, we spend a few minutes discussing what we are working on that day, why it matters, and what I want the athlete focusing on.
We then spend approximately 45–50 minutes on event-specific training, technique, drills, or progressions. I finish each session with about five minutes of conversation where we review what the athlete learned, how they are progressing, and what they can work on before our next session. I want athletes to leave every practice understanding not only what they did, but why they did it.
I have coached at the NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III levels and have served as a coach for sprints, hurdles, relays, distance, jumps, throws, and combined events. That experience has given me a unique understanding of the entire sport of track & field and how athletes develop across very different event areas.
Throughout my career, I have coached three national qualifiers in the heptathlon, 400m hurdles, and 10K, along with seven athletes who achieved NCAA provisional qualifying standards in events including the shot put, high jump, 400m hurdles, and 400m. I have coached conference champions in the 400m hurdles twice and the 400m, as well as 16 All-Conference athletes across the 800m, 400m hurdles, 200m, 400m, and shot put.
Coach DeWitt was one of the most influential coaches I had as an athlete. He had an incredible understanding of energy systems and how to structure distance training around the individual athlete. In one year, he helped me improve from a 4:45 mile to 4:08. What I appreciated most was the structure behind his training and how well he communicated the purpose of what we were doing. He helped shape the way I coach today by showing me how much an athlete can improve when great training, communication, and trust come together.
I truly care about the entire sport of track & field and believe every athlete deserves to be coached at a high level, regardless of their event or current ability. Track & field played a major role in building the confidence I have today, and one of my biggest goals as a coach is helping athletes develop that same confidence in themselves.
Winning, personal records, and accomplishments are important, but I want athletes to leave the sport knowing they became more confident, disciplined, and capable because of their experience in it.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
