My name is Donovan, and I'm a Milwaukee-based athletic performance coach. I'm passionate about helping athletes at every level become stronger, more confident, and more disciplined, both in their sport and in life!
I earned my 1st Degree Black Belt at age 9 and my 3rd Degree Black Belt at age 13 through 11 years of Taekwondo training. I also bring 15+ years of competitive basketball experience, including training under semi-professional players and coaches and multi-year participation in Milwaukee Bucks youth sports camps, alongside years of dedicated strength training in the gym. That combination of martial arts discipline, basketball knowledge, and strength development taught me what it actually takes to grow as an athlete, and I bring that same framework to every athlete I coach.
My coaching style combines encouragement, structure, and accountability. I believe every athlete improves when given a clear plan, honest feedback, and a coach who genuinely invests in their development!

Every virtual session starts with a check-in on your goals and how you've felt since our last session. From there we move into a dynamic warm-up, then the core of the session, which may include skill development, strength and conditioning work, speed and agility drills, basketball IQ concepts, or mental performance work depending on your goals.
All sessions include real-time coaching feedback, technique corrections, and progress tracking. You'll always know what to work on before our next session so your development continues between calls.
I currently coach through the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee's Healthy Weight + Your Child program, working with youth ages 7–13 on health, movement, and confidence development.
My athletic background includes 15+ years of competitive basketball and 11 years of Taekwondo training, where I served as a junior instructor, and gained experience as a tournament judge. Those roles sharpened my ability to evaluate performance, lead under pressure, and communicate with precision.
I also spent nearly four years with CLIMB USA mentoring K–12 youth in financial literacy and entrepreneurship, co-founding the CLIMB Youth Leaders Program to expand outreach across underserved Milwaukee communities. Developing people on and off the court has always been the foundation of everything I do!
One of the best coaches I ever had, who assisted and trained me in attaining the rank of 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo, emphasized discipline, consistency, and attention to detail. Rather than focusing only on results, they focused on daily habits and continuous improvement. That experience taught me that long-term success comes from mastering fundamentals and staying committed to the process.
I care deeply about more than just performance. My goal is to help every athlete develop confidence, discipline, work ethic, and a positive mindset that benefits them on and off the court.

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.
Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.
Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!
We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.
Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.
Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.
