Get to know Devon

16 years of playing shaped me - now I give back through athletes and community.

I’m an Atlanta-based coach and IMG Academy Recruiting Coordinator with years of competitive baseball experience, working with athletes from youth through collegiate levels across baseball, strength and conditioning, and track & field. I use the lessons I’ve learned from my own high-level competition and coaches to build individualized training that develops skill, athleticism, confidence, and accountability. My goal is simple: help athletes get better, understand their development, and build habits that last beyond the field.

About me

I’m an Atlanta native, former competitive baseball player (16 years), coach, and IMG Academy Recruiting Coordinator who believes great development starts with a strong relationship between the athlete, coach, and family.

I’ve worked with athletes from youth through collegiate levels across baseball, strength & conditioning, and track & field. My approach is built around individualized development, clear communication, and consistent accountability. Every athlete is different, so I take the time to understand where they are, where they want to go, and what needs to happen to get them there.

My goal isn’t simply to make an athlete better at a particular skill. I want to help them become more confident, disciplined, coachable, and self-driven while giving them the tools and habits they can carry into competition and everyday life.

I help athletes improve by building a training plan around **where you are now, where you want to go, and what it will take to get there**.

Whether you’re looking to become a better baseball player, get stronger and faster, improve your conditioning, or prepare for the next level, we’ll focus on the skills and habits that will make the biggest difference for you.

I can help you:

- Build stronger baseball fundamentals and position-specific skills

- Improve hitting, fielding, footwork, movement, and coordination

- Develop strength, speed, agility, and conditioning

- Prepare your body for competition and a higher level of play

- Build confidence through consistent, purposeful training

- Develop better practice habits, preparation, and accountability

- Understand **why** we’re doing each drill or exercise so you can become a smarter, more independent athlete

My goal is not just to make you better during our sessions. It’s to give you the tools, confidence, and habits to keep improving when you leave the field or gym.

**Wherever you are in your development, we’ll start there and build from it.**

Every session is structured, purposeful, and tailored to the athlete.

We’ll begin by checking in on how you’re feeling, what we’re working toward, and what needs attention that day. From there, we’ll move through a progression designed around your goals and level of development.

A typical session may include:

Movement & warm-up: Mobility, coordination, activation, and movement preparation.

Skill development: Focused work on the specific baseball, speed, or athletic skills we’re developing.

Strength & conditioning: Exercises designed to build strength, speed, power, athleticism, and conditioning appropriate for your age and training experience.

Competition & application: When appropriate, we’ll turn skills into game-like or performance-based situations so you can learn to apply them under pressure.

Feedback & adjustments: I’ll give you clear, specific coaching throughout the session so you understand what you’re doing, what needs to improve, and how to make the adjustment.

Wrap-up: We’ll review what we accomplished and identify what you should continue working on between sessions.

I want athletes to know exactly what they’re working on and why it matters. Sessions are challenging, but they’re also positive and encouraging. My goal is for every athlete to leave knowing they got better, understanding what comes next, and feeling motivated to keep working.

As athletes progress, the training evolves with them. We’ll adjust the plan based on performance, goals, season demands, and areas that need additional attention.

I bring a competitive baseball background shaped by years of playing at high levels and training in demanding environments.

I’ve played for multiple nationally recognized teams and competed in events and tournaments associated with Perfect Game, Triple Crown, AABC, and USSSA. My playing experiences have taken me from Little League World Series competition to national invitation-only wood-bat classics and high-level tournaments, giving me exposure to different styles of play, coaching philosophies, and competitive environments.

Throughout my playing career, I’ve also had the opportunity to train alongside current and former professional players and learn from accomplished coaches, including Marquis Grissom, Delino DeShields, and CJ Stewart.

Those experiences gave me an appreciation for the level of preparation, discipline, fundamentals, and consistency required to compete at a high level. They also shaped how I approach coaching today: break the game down, understand the details, build quality habits, and help athletes learn how to apply those skills when competition gets difficult.

My background has given me experience not only competing, but also learning from high-level players and coaches and bringing those lessons forward to the next generation of athletes.

Today, I use that experience to help youth and collegiate athletes develop their skills, athleticism, confidence, and understanding of the game.

I can’t name just one.

I’ve been fortunate to have many coaches who poured into me at different points in my journey. Each taught me something different—about the game, discipline, preparation, competing, and most importantly, how to carry myself.

I’m grateful for every coach who challenged me, believed in me, and took the time to help me grow.

I try to carry those lessons into my own coaching today. The best part of coaching is having the opportunity to pour into the next generation the way so many coaches poured into me.

I believe the best coaching relationships are built on trust, communication, and consistency.

I’m going to challenge athletes, but I also understand that every athlete develops differently. My job is to meet the athlete where they are, understand what motivates them, and help them take the next step in their development.

Athletes should know that I care about more than just performance. I want to help you become a better competitor, teammate, and person. That means learning how to work through challenges, respond to coaching, stay disciplined when progress feels slow, and take ownership of your preparation.

Parents should know that communication is important to me. I want families to understand what we’re working on, why we’re working on it, and how they can support the athlete outside of training. I believe development works best when the athlete, coach, and family are working together.

I also believe in making training challenging without making it intimidating. Athletes should feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning. At the same time, I expect effort, focus, respect, and accountability.

I grew up in the Atlanta baseball community, so I understand the competitive environment many local athletes are navigating. I bring that experience into my coaching while keeping the focus on the individual athlete in front of me.

Most importantly, I want athletes to know that they don’t have to be perfect to work with me. They just need to be willing to learn, work, and get better.

My goal is to help each athlete leave our training with more confidence, a better understanding of their game, and a clear path toward their next level.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking to message a coach for the first time, go to their profile and click “Send a Message”. A type box will show, where you can enter and send your message. To follow up with a coach you've already contacted, log into your account and find the 'Inbox' tab. You'll see your message history and be able to send another note.

Once you find a coach that fits your needs, go to their profile, select the package you'd like to purchase, and click 'Book Lessons'. Here, you can reserve your desired number of lessons along with the number of athletes who will be training. After sessions are booked, coordinate the dates/times for each session on your calendar - using the calendar is important since this is how your coach will get paid.

Paying AU coaches via cash, Venmo, or any 3rd party is strictly prohibited. AU coaches know this, but their partnership with us is to split all bookings 80/20 - so coaches keep 80%. We use our 20% to help them find clients & manage their business. Without the split, we wouldn't be able to help our coaches & community thrive!

We integrate with Stripe - the largest & most secure payment processor in the US - to facilitate bookings. Paying online is required, and it simplifies the process for our coaches since it helps track their schedule & earnings in one place. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our support team.

Each coach typically has at least one preferred training location. You can see the location(s) by going to your coach's profile and finding the 'Training Locations' section. If a coach doesn't have locations listed here, you can message the coach to see where they train. Some coaches are willing to travel to clients for lessons, or even meet halfway.

Each coach sets their own schedule for training. You can see a coach's general availability by going to their profile and finding the 'Availability' section - it will list the days and times. If a coach doesn't post their availability, or if your preferred coach doesn't have your desired times available but you want to double check, message them to see if they can work with your schedule.

  • Good Fit Guarantee — If your first lesson isn't the right fit, we'll move your lesson credit to a new coach. No hassle.
